Everytime i try and play a file on my vu duo box it realy struggles and is unwatchable.

I have tried reflashing it with vix and black hole now. both do the same on play back.

I have also tried formatting the hard drive with ntfs and that still doesnt affect it.

is my box or hard drive damaged?

This is the hard drive that is in

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1tb-samsung-hd103sj-spinpoint-f3-sata-3gb-s-7200rpm-32mb-cache-89ms-ncq

any help on this would be appriciated

Thanks people

sounds like ur hdd, u need to format it to fat32 or preferrebly ext3 and not ntfs

EDIT:

if u go back to the vix image then you can initialize the hdd again and that will format it and set it up for u

instead of using media player, use the button with the "R" in it next to the "Menu" button and try playing ur recordings through there

after just doing a quick test it seems to play fine for the bits that have been loaded before.

so if i rewind a file it works fine. but if its not played the file before it wont load

just done a hd test results where
cached reads 876mb in 2.00 seconds=437.50mb/sec

buffered disk reads 4mb in 3.27 seconds=1.2mb/sec

u think this is good enough?

Using the exact same HDD on V2.2.1 and not experiencing any of those problems.

My only complaint is that the hdd is a bit noisy when it fires up but then settles down.

U think it could be my vu box?

Tried formatting the hd to fat32 today with still no luck.

Pause and rewind work but but not playing back recorded files.

Think it's time to give up :(
