Team ViX Enchancements

New Features

BackupManager - Lets you create scheduled backups of your system files (not full Image like Image Manager).
RestoreWizard - This a wizard that detects and restores you backup (created with BackupManager), with option to restore your extra plugins.
ImageManager - Major code rewrite, now handled by Job task, view progress of image creation in extension list (blue button)
ViX Menu - Added PackageManagement & Software Update, so SoftwareManager is now not needed. It is also now translatable into different languages.
NetworkInadyn - Add new network setup screen Inadyn.
OScam/CCam Info - Added options to show in Extension List. (the Menu item will now only show IF the softcam is installed).
OnlineVersionCheck - Added option to disable online check by setting check value to '0' and set a maximun timer to 48 hours.
Recording List - Added a new option in MovieList Settings to use a "Slim" list like the "Slim" Channel slection screen.
EPG Graphical - This is now in core, no longer a plugin (was ViXEPG), added the option to show Bouquets on launch.
EPG Menu - Add Load/Save item, this allow you reload/save the EPG cache.
E2-Plugin's - Updated all to plugin's to the latest GIT from PLi.
ZAP Timer - This will create a zap timer (rather than a recording timer) for the selected event in the EPG/Single EPG etc. To activate this, select the event from the EPG, and do a long button press on the record button. This is a non-configurable timer, so will use all defaults, and just set the record to a zap, rather than a record. When adding a zap timer, the clock icon will show on the previous event. This is to do with the pre-start timer.

SwapManager - Code cleanup, for better activation/detecion.
About Screen - Updated infomation screen, better layout, more information. VFD now shows image version.
EPG Search - Fix a bug where the yellow button just opened a blank EPGSearch screen instead of actually perfoming a search on the current event. Also, added 'Show History' to long yellow button press whilst in EPGSearch.
EPG Cache - Updated so now it does not require 2 reboots in order to use new location.
EventView - Fix GS on opening Similar List.
Network Link State - fixed Vu+ machine network link state.
PluginBrowser - fix it not installing picons.
ShoutCast - Fixed plugin.
SoftcamManager - Add Timercheck for OScam to support no username or password in Webif, fix GS when pressing coloured buttons, if no softcams installed, also code clean up.
Translation - Updated NL language files.
Permantent TimeShift fix and embed PTS.
Updated KeyMap - Fixes a few MoviePlayer remote control issues.
ViX HD skin - PNG fix for selected items in lists, Tweaked the Jobview screen, 'New Online Version' icon now flashes to remind you of an update.
VIXEPG fix - The < > keys for jumping +/- 1 day.
NetworkBrowser - fix GS when creating CIFS mounts.
RemoteSetup fix GS when showCoolTVGuide is selected.

Known Bugs


Second subtitles in AVI, MP4 etc often need a stepskip to enable them to show up.

guys im still getting green screen when trying to stream a movie using VLC player plugin...
connects fine to my laptop..i see the movies listed , as soon as i hit play , i get the green screen .

Try this way, no need to use VLC player plugin then.

Menu > Setup > System > Network > Network Browser > Scan your network and select the shared folder on you laptop as a network mount.

Now press Filelist button as if your going to play back a recording and navigate to your network mount, prob be under /mnt/

the scan never ever finds my pc ..just the vusolo ..i even tried to manually scan it by putting my ip adress of laptop in it .
all my share settings are correct on my pc ...but the vix symbol spins round and round for ages , which requires me to reboot it. strange..i will keep at it and see what i can sort out .

i know when it has not updated because i have it scheduled to download at 4 am...i normally put the box in standby wen i goto bed , if the green light is on in the morning , it hasnt worked .
it should wake the box up..download and go back into standby ..however its 50/50 wether it works or not !

Using Vix 2.2.100 on VU+ Duo. Added a new network mount but now keep getting green screen on boot. The bug points to CheckMountPointFinished() in Console.py getting 4 arguments when it expected exactly 2.

However, my bigger problem is that I can't get back in to undo my change. The box goes to green screen during bootup before I can get in. I didn't image the box so hope it doesn't come to reimaging.

Any suggestions on how to stop the full boot sequence so I can undo my change?

did you restore setting from another image ?, if so remove the file /etc/enigma2/automounts.xml and try again.

Make sure you format the stick FAT32. Then create a folder called vuplus then another folder inside vuplus called solo then copy the flash files into there. So vuplus/solo/flash files.

No, he got the folder "USR" because the box booted up with the stick mounted. Should be no problem.

Sorry, but no; that's no problem at all. You can have all kinds of folders and files, as long as the image-folder is OK. My flash-sticks are loaded with all kinds of stuff.

I can only repeat that my image-flash-sticks are always loaded with all kinds of files and folders and that I never had any problem with that (on DUO, UNO, ET5000 and also the new ET5x00). Needless to say that the image-folders must be correctly named and the image-files as well.
But indeed: if there are unexplainable problems it's a cheap try to delete all rubbish.

Probably nothing. Looks like the stick is not being recognised by the bootloader.
Try formatting it using the attached program: that way you're sure the stick is OK (needless to say that the image folder has to be copied to the stick after the format....). This has helped lots of people with the same problem.

Gentlemen, this is puzzling: I slow-formatted the Verbatim 4GB USB stick; created the vuplus folder with solo subfolder; and copied over the 3 image files. Then I went through the flash process with the same negative result: Black Hole booted yet again. Then I remembered I had a 6-year old 256MB USB stick in the drawer, so I thought I may as well repeat the process with this ...... and bingo! - ViX booted and I now have a lovely ViX screen.
Curiously, the first (unsuccessful) stick was the one I used to Install Black Hole: Why did it work that time? I notice this USB stick appears in Windows Explorer as "STORE N GO" (G:) whereas the old stick appears as Removable Disk (G:). I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

i'm in agreement with rob on this one mate. my flash stick easily has 5 gig of files on it and it flashes the box first time every time. i have picons , epg data , many many image backups along with settings backups. all my plugins in .ipk format for safe keeping. config files and more. all i do is leave a image permanently in the vuplus folder on the stick in case i need to flash the box and all i need to do is press the CH+ button on the box at bootup. never had a problem at all in 7 months of using it this way but that is on the Uno.

just flash with the latest public version for now. as soon as we release 2.3 you will know about it. believe me on that one.

Especially if you make a settings backup and use the restore wizard after the flash your system will be up & running in no time, without any hassle. In other words: there is never a good reason not to use the latest image :)

Rob, yes thank you. I ran hpusbfw.exe "as administrator" but could still not flash my 4GB USB stick onto the Vu+ Solo. My PC and my laptop have no problems reading the stick but for some reason my Vu+ Solo seems to. I will just use my old USB stick from now on. Rgds.

ViX 2.2.100 and the official Vu 6 series images are two separate entities, you can not load them both you have one or the other. there is however a new bootloader issued by Vu allowing the Duo to handle larges images.

having a major problem. i had vix2.1 and everything was fine.. then yesterday i unplugged the modem and all of a sudden no channel worked. i have tried everything i can think to get it back working. i today installed 2.2 and did everything from scratch. but i still have no channel on sky apart from free ones. running cccam 2.2.1. any ideas?
