Record Streaming In Vlc?

hi all!
im streaming my vu+ duo to my computer and wants to record it...
does anyone knows how to record the streaming with vlc??? (im using vlc 1.1.9)

Im not at home at the moment but doesnt vlc have a record feature built in i.e a record button

With the new VLC, you can record videos during playback. The record button is hidden by default. To see it, click on View>Advanced Control. The record button will now appear. Clicking on the button while playing a movie or video will start recording. Clicking again will stop recording.

what version is this???
i dont have a record button

ive just tested it on mine and im on 1.1.9 and i have the record button. the new version is 1.1.11

nice ! i didnt know you should press on view and then advanced controls thats why i havnt found it !
