Replace cam to newer

Hi, i am trying to replace cam from 214 to 221, i have installed the ipk file but it is not there to start in the blue menu, only the 214 showing as active, where am i going wrong

have you made sure the attributes are set to 755 ? when u r sending the .ipk file over

Some users were mentioning problems with one of the two 2.2.1 file from the shared download server. I would try the one you did not download, put it in tmp and than use the IPK installer in the vix menu to install and it should be in softcam to activate if not. Please explain step by step what you did.

also state what image you are using, some images need an image compliant variant, blackhole for example

It was a relatives box, a new duo running vix 2.2.
I downloaded the right 221 file has i had it on my pendrive as i downloaded it few months back for my duo, did the install over to tmp, then installed the ipk via the installer in menu, went to blue buttm softcam manager only the 214 showing, nothing 221 related.
I would still like to know how to do this out of curiosity as i decided to backup the settings, reflash box and put in the same file i downloaded and used prior and 221 all running now
