Is it that much of an upgrade from the 540 to 550?

How much might you be looking for the 540? As I might be interested in one (assuming fully working etc).

Missed out on that deal. Saw it end of last week and had expired! Grrr, lol

There is not much hardware changes between the 540 and the 550 just i could not get the live service working on the 540 kept getting a sim card error

this is a known problem with the tomtom 540

Well, if you're looking to offload at a ridiculously cheap price (since it's damaged goods and all :p) I'd possibly go for it ;)
