You can watch one channel and record another on the DUO with out any problems whatsoever, thats the benefit of having a twin tuner, its been done by some people that you can record up to 8 channels on the same transponder.
The timeshift setting is in the timeshift menu and this enables it permanently, the pause function works automatically and saves to the HDD. The permanent one you can specify a location and it can be HDD or your stick, the stick is preferably as your HDD is than not constantly spinning and generating heat.

go to menu/setup/system/recording paths and post here what your recording path and timeshift path is ... they should both be pointing to hdd locations

punisher

default movie location is hdd/movie
if it hasnt created it then go into media/hdd and create a folder called movie in there

hawaythelad
28-06-11, 21:24
yes that has mounted to /media/hddd

punisher
28-06-11, 21:26
right so try recording something and see if it works for ya

hawaythelad
28-06-11, 21:27
yes that file is ther, but all i am getting again is the directory /hdd/movie/is not writable. make sure you select a writable directory instead

hawaythelad
28-06-11, 21:29
just getting missing /hdd/movie/
no hddd found or intialised when i record

punisher
28-06-11, 21:29
right go into that directory via ftp and make sure the permission to the movie folder is set to 755. right click on the movie folder and click on permissions and that will allow u to change it

punisher
28-06-11, 21:30

hawaythelad

punisher
28-06-11, 21:43
i dont think it has set the hdd up properly. try creating a new folder called movie in media/hdd so once you have created it, it should look like media/hdd/movie ... then right click on movie and change permission and set it to 755

hawaythelad
28-06-11, 23:47

hawaythelad

29-06-11, 00:36

hawaythelad
29-06-11, 00:48
the only way i can get the media/hdd/movie , is to create anew folder called media/hdd/movie , if i creat a new folder called media/hdd the movie folder dose not show, after i have ftp & created a folder path called media/hdd/movie , all i can click on is attributes, the 755 is ok. but still the same

then reinitialize the hdd and mount it as media/hdd
try a recording and see if you can play it back. If it works then relfash the vix image and double check in device manager and check the hdd is as media/hdd dont change anything. try a recording and see if u can play it back

This is sounding like the hdd is not being initialised in the box... If the hdd is initialised in the box, then all is done for you...

The fact you couldn't write to the hdd could be because it was formatted in windows?! Try going through the menu -> setup -> system -> hdd -> initialise. If you go through this, it will work perfectly fine!

hawaythelad
