View Full Version : Do you have original or Clone?
As with most dreamboxes, over priced and he more expensive they get the worse they get, i had two 800s, one genuine (400) which i sold in order to buy a VU plus (best thing i ever did) and i have a clone 800s, sim 1 BL72.
what do you have and ho do you get the latest image on your box?
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I had both and the clone was poop also bl72 i fixed it though after replacing a load of caps and transistors then promptly sold it on, then i sold my original 800 which i had no problems with in over 12 months but im glad i now own a VU+ and will stick with VU+ until something better arrives. (if such a thing exists)
I had 800hd clone but i got hold of a genunie tuner which solved my glitching issues, box was perfect always.
I put elite image into it before i sold it in order to buy my new toy VU+ Duo, which no doubt and yes i am sure i will not be selling as it cost me an arm a and a leg lol and wife not happy even thou dm800 paid towards it.
Foxy (Yes i am a man lol)
original 800hd, brill box with the latest bh image
clones are good for non-hd channels, but for me HD is the main thing, so I use vu duo for that. For normal non hd channels I have few dm500 clones.
Two original boxes with DOMICA 7 image installed
dm 800 original with oozoon +gp3 in flash
Had a clone dm800hd for nearly a year set up with nabilosat blackhole v 0.12 it works very well but with some glitching on some hd chanels, upgraded to a vu duo at christmas and must admit i am slightly disapointed, picture quality is about the same but i have to agree that the glitching on the hd chanels is slightly improved maybe if i experiment with differant images things will improve (doesnt run my motor properly and have to search for some sattelites to view)
I've had the DUO for over 6 months and never experienced any glitching!
There is only onely 2 ways you would get glitching on the VU and thats either a bad signal or that which we cannot talk about.
i have both original and clone ,both are doing well,No problem on HD channels at all ,ssl 76d works very stable.
i have one clone dreambox 800hd it is very goot for hd chanel whith image dreamelite 1.3.3.....
i had 800 original no probs whatsoever sold it (big mistake) and bought a clone 8000 (heap of s***) sent back, now waiting for 800se original to arrive

2 clone 800s hd 1 one bh image and 1 with de image
Bought an original DM800 the week they were released in germany, still use it in the bedroom, and have only flashed it 3 times since ive owned it, i think its on nabilo BH 12. i do have a clone 7020 that i was sent to test before they were released, and i also have a 500 clone, again that i had at next to nothing price, but if i buy myself, i ONLY buy originals, as if people only bought clones, then the official support for anything would soon dry up. If a Vu+ Duo clone came out for £150, would the software developers work 3 times harder to make the code work on inferior hardware? all for free while only the clone maker makes any form of money out of all the work?
Dont see why anyone would even consider buying a DM800 clone nowadays with the availablility of the Xtrend ET5000 at just £239.

exactly, plus to be honest most clones last 1 maybe 2 years at most. my genuine DM7020 has lasted almost 8 or 9 years and it's still going.
I would not buy a dm800 genuine or clone they just don`t offer value for money and there are many other receivers like the vu+ duo,Vu+solo<extrend etc that offer a higher spec and are cheaper to boot.
Because the difference is clone £149 xtrend £239 £90 more expensive enough said why people still buy clone.

and for that £90 difference you get a far superior box both in build quality and performance, not to mention full warranty support. personally i would far rather spend the little bit extra and go for the genuine box that i know will last me for a good few years which is more than i can say for a clone.
dont get me wrong i would not buy a original dreambox either because of their ridiculous high prices when compared to Vu and clark tech / xtrend.
The new dm800 hd pro with m tuner are regarded as the best clone box available and are excellent boxes not to be compared with the early clones, but the xtrend looks a very good box but would possibly go for vu duo if money was not a consideration.
