why no sim in vu+duo like dream

hi all i was wondering why the vu+duo has no sim card like dreamboxes,proberly a daft question but ive asked now:confused::)

The sim in dreamboxes is to work as protection for the box (not very well) and try to stop clones. Vu either has different protection, or decided they don't need any...
