New VIX Image ET9000 - v2.2
11/06/2011 - Open ViX 2.2
Based on Open PLi 2.0

http://www.world-of-satellite.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=8206&d=1305890204

From VIX Team

Enigma: 11-06-2011.
Enigma Plugins: 11-06-2011.
GCC Version: 4.4.4.
Drivers: 20110516.

ViX is now embedded within the image even more. A lot of settings have been moved out of the ViX menus, and incorporated within the image. Settings from previous images may not be 100% compatible, and it might be best to re-setup your image without restoring system settings for 100% reliability.

If you have previously used NetworkBrowser to mount network mounts, please remove '/etc/enigma2/automounts.xml' BEFORE tying to setup news ones.

Team ViX Enchancements

ViX Bootlogos, Radio Logo.
ViX Team Spinner.
ViX Team ViX_HD Skin.
ViX Team softcam manager - Lots of changes have been made here. You can now choose whether you want to check whether your cams are running by pressing menu in the softcam screen. You can also check the status of your cam checks by pressing the info button. Also, lots of behind the scenes checks to ensure no restarts of cams when it is actually running.
ViX Image Manager Update - This has been overhauled, and now has the option of creating a schedule to do daily, weekly or every 30 days backups for you.
ViX Cron Manager Update - This has been updated to allow more detailed and specific cron jobs to be created.
ViX Single EPG (with channel preview) - This has been updated to now support picons.
ViX Release notes - This is just a little screen within the Menu -> Information -> About, that appears when you press EPG/Info button, to tell you the latest updates for the image.
ViX Update Checker - This is a feature that lets you know of any available online updates by a little globe symbol in the infobar. This is set to check every 12 hours whether there are any updates for the image (can be changed in settings). If so, the icon will change from inactive to active...
ViX Logs Manager - This allows you to manager your crashlogs and system logs (if enabled). If you have a crash, you can email your bugs to us directly from the image. Go to Menu -> Setup -> System -> Logs. When in the Logs Manager, you can edit the configuration to show your forum username, and your email address by pressing the Menu button. Please ensure you do this before submitting logs!
ViX Settings - These are now found in the main System Menu.
ViX Simple TV List - This is a simple selection to show your bouquet lists, just showing the channels and current event (if in EPG). To access the Simple TV List, do a long up/down arrow button press. You can customised it to be the default option instead of Full Screen Channel List, in which case, Up/Down buttons are reversed. It can also be set in the ViX Settings for the TV button.
AutoTimer plugin integrated into image - Create an AutoTimer (Series Link), using Blue button in Current Channel EPG info. This has been updated to use threading, so that it will work in the background. No more spinning when checking for lots of timers. Default behaviour has been changed so that it does not check in standby only, and will check every 30 minutes.
CCcamInfo - CCcamInfo plugin built directly in to image.
OscamInfo - OscamInfo plugin built directly in to image.
Blindscan Support Added - This allows you to access blindscan within the Service Scanning menu.
CrossEPG - Updated to latest release to allow better EPG importing.
Movie Player - Now, when playing a recorded item, you can search EPG and add Auto Timers for the particular recording. When watching your recording, press yellow to search the EPG, then press blue to add an AutoTimer.

Button Mappings

Short Red** & *** - Show current channel EPG info (ViX Single EPG).
Long Red*** - Show current event.
Short Green** & *** - Timers.
Long Green*** - AutoTimer Timers.
Short Yellow*** - EPG Search.
Long Yellow*** - IMDB Database.
Short Blue - Extensions.
Long Blue*** - Plugins Menu.
EPG - Opens ViX EPG.
Left/Right** - Opens ViX QuickEPG.
Up/Down** - Open Full Screen Channel List.
Long Up/Down** - Open Simple TV List.
TV Button** - Open Full Screen Channel List.
Long TV Button - Open Bouquets List.

** Can be changed in ViX Menu
*** Can be turned off in ViX Menu

Known Bugs

Radio mp3 stream crashes after some time (sometimes only > 1 hour). Once that occurs, TV is also without sound. A reboot is then required. There might be a relation with Shoutcast (in use or just installed).
A second subtitle in AVI, MP4 etc doesn't show up. Debugging in E2 just stops.
In Partnerbox (remote TV-Player) the audiobutton causes a crash.6

Special Thanks

rytec - for his continued support.
PLi Team for their great base image and allowing us to use it.
zoka.cc for his Picon sets
Coolman and all other developers for their plugins used in the feeds of this image.
All of the ViX Beta team for their hours of testing and dedication on getting this image and DTT working

A fantastic image from Andy, well worth the wait.

Looking forward to installing it.

Would anybody please be able to answer some "newbie" questions?

1. Do I need to run the online software update from the software manager after installing ViX 2.2 or are all the things that would be downloaded by the online software update already embedded in the image?
2. Do I need to install CCcam after installing ViX 2.2 or is it embedded in the image?
3. Apart from channel settings are there any other drivers or configuration files etc that I need to load after installing ViX 2.2? Apart from CCcam and channel settings etc , I have not previously customised anything in the ET9000.

The Bishop
1. Shouldn't have to install any updates as this is the very latest images and there are no updates, if any are release the update icon - globe with arrows on either side will be illuminated.
2. No CAMS in any VIX image you will need to manually install these just like on the current image - though you can back up your CFG file via FTP and reload it once flashed.
3. Any autotimers you have created, these are in ETC/Engima2 and are a XML file again FTP and back - will need long green to create the timers otherwise any upcoming may not get polled immediately.

Were did you get the IPK from the ones posted on this forum and what did you do as work fine here. If you can do a step by step than can figure out whats going wrong.

I had a similar problem but different error message with the installation of one of the CCcam ipk files downloaded from the forum. There are 2 available for download, one file is smaller than the other and the smaller file size version gave the problem. Using the larger file size verion of CCcam the installation proceeded OK - might be relevant ?

as for as i know, Xtrend are now the official manufacture, clarketech is no longer selling the ET9000, as such all the support is now with Xtrend and not Clarketech.

First let me thank you for the VIX Image

I have a question
When I zap trough the channels the info displays first an second old program title, then change to the current.
When I zap back again the old program title is again showed.
It is not the program title from the previous program but from hours back

I think it would be better if only the current would be showed.
Leave the info blank until the correct info is available

This is liekly because of the epg data you have downloaded from crossepg/xmltvimporter. If an event has changed, then the epg data imported cannot be updated...

Unless the VIX image does this itself.

No you need to setup epg for whicheva satellite you watching. You can do this by going to menu/setup/system/epg and setup there. Use crossepg or xmlimport

I have done what you suggest but the info remains the same, first old info then the current.
I always thought that program info is integraded in the satellite stream.
With other recievers i did not have to read in seperate data
I am only talking about the 2 lines with the program titles (now & next).

I think that I have found the problem, The time setting is incorrect.
The time on my reciever is 6 hours earlier then the real time.
I have set timezone correct for my country (holland)
Is the somebody who can tell me how to set the correct time.

Now that you have set the timezone corectly, you should be ok to choose a channel native to your country (fta possibly best), and then restart the box on that channel (unless you have set a startup service, in which case, ensure it's a native channel). This should then set the time correctly for you...

If that doesn't work, you can manually set the time by telnetting in to the box and using the date command:

Usage: date [OPTIONS] [+FMT] [TIME]

Display time (using +FMT), or set time

Options:
[-s] TIME Set time to TIME
-u Work in UTC (don't convert to local time)
-R Output RFC-822 compliant date string
-I[SPEC] Output ISO-8601 compliant date string
SPEC='date' (default) for date only,
'hours', 'minutes', or 'seconds' for date and
time to the indicated precision
-r FILE Display last modification time of FILE
-d TIME Display TIME, not 'now'
-D FMT Use FMT for -d TIME conversion

Recognized formats for TIME:
hh:mm[:ss]
[YYYY.]MM.DD-hh:mm[:ss]
YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm[:ss]
[[[[[YY]YY]MM]DD]hh]mm[.ss]

Please help me!
I am completely new to this world and was a bit too eager to update my ET9000 from 2.1 to 2.2.

Now I need to reinstall MGcamd but 2.2 will not load it.
I was told to use the "enigma2-plugin-cams-mgcamd.1.35a_1.0-r3_mipsel.ipk" version of MGcamd, 2.2 finds it but can't load it.

Is MGcamd incompatible with 2.2??? Hopefully not.

Please advise me how to solve this problem and tell me where to find the correct MGcamd .ipk file to use

Edit: I can't even find a tmp folder in 2.2 to install in, so I used the /usr/softcams folder. Is that correct?

BadBoy

Yes, it is compatible. I simply downloaded it from the forum and it installed fine. You then need to upload your cfg and .list files to /var/keys/

Thanks, you give me some hope!

I must be doing something very wrong...
I dowloaded the right MGcamd from the forum, uploaded it to /usr/softcams folder since I can't find any tmp folder. Is this right so far?

Then I choose the .ipk file in Softcam Setup and try to start it, but I only get the following message:
"Found none standard softcam, trying to start, this may fail"
It won´t start...

I have put the newcamd.list file into var/keys/

Somewhat desperate, I created one in a texteditor with theese lines that I found on the net.
I have no idea what they do and if they are correct, but the mg_cfg seems to work!
I will search fo a more dedicated one though, any advice would be great.
Thanks for your reply!

Somewhat desperate, I created one in a texteditor with theese lines that I found on the net.
I have no idea what they do and if they are correct, but the mg_cfg seems to work!
I will search fo a more dedicated one though, any advice would be great.
Thanks for your reply!

So can I leave the plugin installed or is it just for vu. if so does that mean vu duo plugins will work on et. 9000. Dumb question said I ask though ?

punisher

you can leave the plugin installed but if you arent going to use it then you might want to delete it. just make sure in menu/setup/system/remote setup the epg button mode is set to vix epg if you want to follow the tutorial above and use the same epg

You will need to update the servers, they were changed a while back and there is a thread on here of how to do it and the server path files have been posted in that thread.

Do you know how to telnet in to the box? If so, type in "opkg update", and then once that's finished, type in "opkg upgrade". This should update everything to the latest. If still nothing updating, then post the results of your telnet to the box...

Hi beson.

Welcome to the forums. A post in the introduction section would be useful too (sdorry if u already havew, haven't fully checked as using phone).

As for ur problem, have u ran a software update? How did u install oscam? Do u have webif available in the config?

Problem lies in softcam manager checking that it's not crashed, but not bein able to see it open (likely because oscasm webif is disabled?!)...

Hope this helps, and enjoy ur gr8 purchase...

Thanks pooface for your answer.
My introduction is made now.
I have not made a software update. Can you give me an advice for a sw update for ET 9000.
Do I flash the sw update like like flashing the image? From an usb pen?
I installed oscam from /tmp with an ipk file. Then I changed to new oscam version in /usr/softcams
I have webif in config. The log in my last thread is from oscam webif.

TO update the image, press blue button, choose software management, and then choose software update. Of course, this will require you to be connected to the internet to do...

No need for reflashing, just an update online.

Once you've updated, you'll be prompted to restart the box. Restart, go to menu -> information -> about. You will notice the latest update version. iirc, the latest public version is 2.2.05...

But no freezings with PLI image.
Too bad it was no doubletuner function (rec one channel and look live on another) in PLI.

hi mate,

looking at you log from osacam the problem lies with your oscam config you need to allow access to webif for ip '127.0.0.1' please add it to the list of allowed ip, or turn off Softcam timer check in Softcam Manager by pressing 'MENU' the setting it off.

Hi andyblac, and thanks for your answer.
I have access for ip 127.0.0.1 in webif.
I will try to turn off softcam timer, and see if it helps.
I wonder why I have no problems with this in PLI 2.0

Vix has built in checker so if the cam is turned off it will reboot it, that is why u are getting the error message as it needs webif to check the cam.

Hi, How do I make AC3 default audio settings on this image as all the channels are on narrative mode?

Thanks

Actually, it's menu- > setup -> auto language -> prefer ac3

I don't understand why oscam is turned off exactly every 6th minute, and has to be rebooted.
