View Full Version : What Does Factory Reset Do To A ViX Imaged ET9000 ?

Hi,

Would anybody please be able to provide some information on what is actually restored if the Factory Reset option is used on a ViX imaged ET9000.

For example, would a customised satellites.xml file be replaced with a default file and would any other files loaded after the image had been flashed also be replaced by some default files?

In particular, after the box was flashed with ViX (2.1) I uploaded 6 files to the box as recommended by WoS who kindly provided the files, these were:

3rd-party-feed.conf
all-feed.conf
arch.conf
et9000-feed.conf
mipsel-feed.conf
opkg.conf

Will I need to upload these files and a custom satellites.xml file to the box after a factory reset?

Those 6 files are from the original release of ViX 2.1 for the ET9000. The second release here http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?6897-ViX-Team-ET9000-Image-v2.1-05-03-2011 accidently contained the beta testing feeds which are now redundant, so you wont have access to updates or plugins. Using those files in the 22/03/11 release restores the plugins/updates feed to the public feeds.

Factory reset should not reset these files, it will reset all settings for satellites, bouquets etc.. It will restore to a default satellites.xml.
