To use these drivers open the relevant archive using winrar

now navigate to

lib/modules/2.6.18-**/extra
on your box
backup the files in this folder first then overwrite them with the ones that you download, there should be four files in total.

once the files have been transferred exit out of the FTP program and start a telnet session ( DO NOT REBOOT THE RECEIVER YET. )

once you have logged in issue the following command

depmod -a
after issuing the mentioned command you can now reboot the receiver.

To use the FPGA update file ( UNO ONLY ) unrar the file and copy the ( TS_PRO.dat ) file to a memory stick or to TMP on your receiver, now go to plugins and you will see a FPGA update option there, press this and navigate to the file you placed on your usb stick / receiver. This update takes around 5 minutes to complete.

VU+ has corrected the files on it's server: the download-function in the plugin 'FPGA upgrade', as is installed by default, can now be used (applies to UNO & Ultimo).

So very easy to do now:
FPGA Upgrade --> Blue (for download) --> Green (for upgrade)

It's not a good idea posting only partial info. This driver can't be installed by hand, as it requires a bootloader update as well as a kernel update.
Installing the driver as is results in a non booting box.

it means we can finally use USB tuners as well as 4 internal tuners at the same time, something that was not previously possible as once you had 4 internal tuners you could not use any more including USB tuners.

I think the last driver für vuduo (bm750) is a little buggy.
The image looks spongy and i have a problem with sound on some channels.
First if i deactivate and activate the DTS Downmix the sound comes back.

The limit can be set to 5mbit on my solo 2 on 722?

Hi vmax. Thanks for your efforts and for posting the fixes - the update looks like it would yield benefits

I have been reading back this thread and have seen some warnings from Rob about loading drivers without the kernel update. I have also checked http://archive.vuplus.com/download/drivers/ and I see the above files listed but no instructions

I have a Vu+ Solo2, and I have never had any luck with the FPGA method on the VU+ Solo 2?

I am in a quandary whether to ftp to \lib\modules\3.3.8-2.0\extra ?

I apologise for my questions, I don't know enough about the risk / benefits - perhaps you could take some time to explain a little please. Could you also point me to where I can find the current driver versions on ViX, or does this require a terminal command?

You can manually FTP the files to the mentioned folder and reboot your box.
Any kernel update was quite some time ago.

I'm not sure what you mean but if you manually update the drivers you won't see that reflected in the info of the about-screen.

As rob says the info> about screen is only updated when the image is, so the driver versions will still show the older ones when manually updating drivers.

Nope, and I never expected that either.
Albeit having been asked to do so several times, VU has never implemented their R/C's the proper way; we had to make a hack to get them working in the first place. So why would they chance this arrogant attitude after being so stubborn for years?

I'm wondering whether the duo/solo will soon receive a further kernel update (beyond 3.9.6)? I've reverted to using cacheflush plugin on my duo because the memory leak with vtuners is still a problem with 3.9.6. I doubt they'll ever fix this properly:(.

Also, 4 x vtuners is already available on the solo2 and duo2 without restricting transcoding... so the restriction mentioned above may only apply to the solose.

They will be in the image soon (after Apollo build 120 as that build has already gone live with new drivers for the Gigablue receivers), you can load them manually if you wish and they do indeed fix most of the lag issues with the ViXBMC_Bello_1080 skin on Vu+ hardware.

As always you can either choose to wait for these drivers to be added to the image (usually in the next build ot two), or you can FTP them over manually if you want to try them rite now.

It's not quite that easy,

1. using 7-zip extract the driver file you downloaded to your desktop.
2. Telnet into the receiver and issue the init 4 command to place enigma to sleep.
3. FTP into the receiver and navigate to lib/modules/2.6.18-**/extra. (The red bit corresponds to the kernel version of your image).
4. copy the drivers already on your receiver to a safe place, just in case.
5. Delete the old drivers and Copy the new drivers to the receiver.
6. reboot your receiver.

If the image does boot back up or you experience any strange issues directly after transferring the drivers over either reflash or put the older drivers back using the same procedure as above.
