Remote access Tutorial

Hi Folks.....I am currently pulling my hair out attempting to connect to my Duo remotely without success...Been at this all weekend....I have found a few tutorials and used them but no comnnection...I have virginized my router just in case there was a setting that was stopping me connecting...I currently have a zyxel P-660HW-T1 v2 router...has anybody out there got a dummies guide to setting this up as I feel that I am leaving something very basic out?...thanks in advance

thanks for your reply Lammy...however,my problem is that I cant seem to connect to my router at my home network....the tutorial says look for 'virtual servers' in my router menu...I cant find it anywhere in the menus....I have an zyxel router and I have checked the instruction manual to no avail...

look for port forward if thats in the router, im not familiar with them
