View Full Version : unable to connect to vu box
hi,
I am unable to connect to my vu using dreambox editor & filezilla. I have checked my i.p address on vu & port settings but still get the unable to connect message. anyone got any idea's.
many thanks
What username and pass u using?
in filezilla user is root & the password i leave blank port is 21.
on dream box editor user root, p/w dreambox, ftp port 21. been working fine up until now.
you checked the ip is the correct one in the network menu?
Yes, all checked. Done a network check on vu box and all ok
must be something in ur settings on pc or firewall maybe blocking it ... have you tried telnetting into the box?
Have not tried telnetting, don't know how to. Will turn off security settings on Pc and re try
Hi Punisher i have tried disabling my security and have also downloaded the lastest vu tool box with upto date dreambox & still no joy. cant see why it will not allow any further idea's. many thanks
can you try on a different computer see if you can access it via that ... see if you can get on the webinterface just type the ip address of the box and http port (found in webinterface plugin) into ur browser i.e http:192.168.0.4:80
Ok, I have tried putting in my ip with the http port number( which is 80) into the browser & get the can not display page. I then downloaded the vu tool box on the pc & tried to connect using dreambox editor but get the same result ( failed to connect) i have checked ip again on vu box & i am using the correct numbers. strange that i can not connect on 2 seperate pc's. can't figure it out.
maybe the router, have you forwarded the ports in your router to your boxs ip?
try this software, i use this for my vu duo and solo
https://rapidshare.com/files/2776732033/VuCC_V0.2.zip
bring up a command box and type in telner your box ip
see if you can log in that way, you dont need to forward ports to be able to do this and it will confirm whether or not box is connected and username and password.
