Woo hoo

I've found something new to worry about.....

My Windows PC has no Serial port.
It runs this motherboard:

Asus P5QL-E...

So what would i do to use this?

Aaah it does have a COM header on the mobo so I'd need to find a COM port to Serial backplane thingy.....

After eading your post I downloaded the manual for your mobo and indeed it does have the comm 1 header :)
I got back here only to find you already know that.
Yes, just find port and plug it in :)

mobo does have COM header but I have no serial backplane adaptor...and the PC is on a different floor from where the STB will be....so is there anything in this utility that cannot ne done via ftp/telnet ?

Dont worry about a com port. You just flash with USB stick http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/vu-duo-discussion/how-to-flash-a-vu-duo-using-a-usb-stick/
