Can I connect using and FTP client to my Vu+ Duo from outside my home network (box in one area, me in a different area)?

If so, how do I do this?

you would need to use something like filezilla, also, you will need to port forward port 21 to the ip address of the unit, on your router

what you need to do,..is go to the units setup ( menu ) then system, network

un check dhcp, and change the address of the unit to some thing outside of your dhcp range ie: 192.168.1.5 change it to ie; 192.168.1.200
go into your router, and dependant on the router type/make, there should be an option to open up ports, you need to set up a redirect port 21, to the ip you set on your unit

the units password needs to be complex, other wise, others could enter your unit/network,

also, if you are using a non local network, you will need a no ip dns address
