Have you fully increased the volume on the Duo using the volume buttons on the remote? Also is AC3 downmix on or off? Try both ways, see what best. Another thing press audio button on remote and see what audio your selecting mpeg or ac3, see which suits you best. HD channels will most likely have AC3 audio.

I agree, the volume output on Vu+ is very low compared to other receivers, i have to crank up my amplifier volume very high.

I dont think its low at all compared to Dreambox's, Humax and Technomate receivers I've played with.

It's about 10dB too low compared to my old IPBOX9000 and even my Sky HD box.

What Sky HD box do you have? I've got the Amstrad and thats really is terribly low in volume, especially HD channels with AC3 audio.

I don't use AC3 as it disturbs my neighbor at late night, so i run 2 channels.

My Sky box is the old Thomson DSI8215
