Yes, its one of those silly ones, where you think, shall I bother,..but I would rather post an alert, and be wrong, rather than wish I had posted a warning post later

Its been communicated but noones has really elaborated on what the virus does.... Is it a Pc Virus or a linux virus ? does anyone have any info of what virus it is and what it does or how it came about...

The real question is are there any links to it within this forum ?

Is there a genuine new 2.2.3 or are all versions of 2.2.3 suspect

its a virus in the Zip file it is very hard to write virus to Unix Os and if its infecting PCs then obviously its not Unix Os virus.

Just do a google search for cccam 2.2.3

All hits are saying it's a fake. There has not been a 2.2.3 version. This version probably contained the binary of a previous version renamed, and included the pc virus... End of...

this warning, as stated, was posted as unproved, and was intended as a "be aware" post

as posted, a linux based virus is highly unlikely, but if its a fake, regardless of the comp virus issue, the simple question is,

why post a fake 2.2.3, rather than 2.2.1??

Good question Basil, probably because peole more likely to download and try 2.2.3 rather than 2.2.1 as thats been out for a while and is everywhere on the forums but mind you more likley you would dupe some one with a existing cam rather than a new one that people would be wary of and test.

File contains trojan- PSW.Win32.Dybalom.dhd.

so what does this trojan do...send info? and to where/who?? ie, softcams are under scrutany, legal rulings recently, is it an attack with a reason? or just some "sh*t that needs a kicking"
