Dreambox manufacturer Dream Multimedia is to display its forthcoming DM7020 HD receiver at the ANGA Cable show in Cologne in May as well as a means of enabling Dreambox functionality to be incorporated into TVs.

With a colour OLED display. the DM7020 HD can house up to two tuners and comes with a DVB-S2 module supplied. 3.5in hard drives can be added for recording anc onnections include HDMI, Ethernet and two USBs.

The IDTV solution will be offered to manufacturers solely as an interface or as a board which can be built into a TV.

Dream spokesperson Alpaslan Karasu said 'The convergence of TV and IP is old hat for us. Using YouTube, mediatheques or news services is commonplace for Dreambox owners. Now, TV manufacturers too can benefit from our many years of experience in working with hybrid technologies and their integration into a consumer product.'

Also on show will be a prototype DVB-S2 tuner capable of taking two inputs at once and an integrated hybrid DVB-T/cable tuner for the DM500 HD and DM800 HD.

I'm quite looking forward to hearing what the price will be for the DM7020HD.

same here, as in my opinion the original DM7020 was by far the best built box they ever produced. if the HD variant is built on that base it should make for a very nice box.

Thing is though, to me sounds more like a DM7025HD than a DM7020HD.

Well, looking around, the dm7020hd is a machine stuck in the middle between the 800 and the 8000 boxes... As such, I'd set a ball park figure of around £600... For that price, think I'll just stick with vu/et boxes...

I think whatever price it comes in at will be too high, as stated with vu and et boxes now, which are quality hardware at a proper price, its hard to see me delving back into them again.
