Hi,

I recently got a static dish pointed at 28.2 added alongside my motorised dish. I have added 2 diseqc switches with the intention of all my 28.2e going to the static and everything else going to the motorised. So my connections are as follows:

Tuner 1:
Diseqc Port A goes to static 28.2e
Diseqc Port B goes to control Motor - then to moving dish

Tuner 2:
Diseqc Port A goes to static 28.2e
Diseqc Port B goes to moving dish

So how do I possibly configure this so that on both tuners 28.2 go straight to Port A, and anything outside of 28.2 goes to Port B - except for when the satellite needs moved, then it needs to go to Tuner 1, Port A?

Cheers :D

if it was me id have 28.2 on tuner A on its own then 28.2 & motor on tuner B or vice versa as your more likely to record and watch 1 on 28.2 and if the motors plumbed into 13e u cant watch another but very unlikely youd find 2 things on a diff sat to watch does that make sence
I got 28 & 13 static and 1 dis switch tuner a and 28 & 19 static tuner b but if i was to have a motor id only take 1 feed from it

I could do that, I think I might have to actually as only one tuner can send the signal to change dish position.

But anyway I still don't have a clue even how to configure a single tuner where I configure 1 static Diseqc port and 1 Motor dish Diseqc port. I'm looking at Advanced Configuration on the tuner but haven't a clue what I'm doing. Anyone any ideas?

Something like in my setup? The motor is on port BB, the three fixed LNB's are on AA, AB and BA.
Tuner A has only four fixed LNB's.

Interesting thanks, I am confused by the advanced configuration to be honest, when I change the satellite in the settings does it save the settings for each satellite - for instance do I have to manually go through each satellite I am interested in and change the configurations, and it is possible to save multiple advanced satellite configurations on each tuner?

Yes and no. Once you configured a LNB (in my example number 4), you can assign that LNB to all the desired satellites.
Don't forget to save by using "OK".

Hi i am just setting up my new vu duo plus.... having a lot of trouble setting up... i want tuner a on fixed dish and tuner b on a seperate motor dish. The handbook is badly translated and not very clear to me..... Is there any way the VU will do an automatic scan for satellites ? or do i have to select individually and assign each to some custom list. ? have been at it for about 4 hours now and still confused.

Great forum by the way. I have been reading the stickies and threads to gen up a bit .

OK, I suppose you managed that? But please give us the tuner config you set for both tuners.

In the tuner setup you have to assign the satellites you want and can receive to the respective tuner.

Nope, it cannot scan for satellites. But it can scan the transponders of assigned satellites.

Dave, the very first thing you should have learned by now: never get confused, come to us before that (and confuse us.....).
