All

Im in the lookout for a second HD receiver to complement my VU Duo.

It doesnt have to have enigma or changeable image.

Only requirements are basic cam support, 28.2e 5-7 day epg, 1 tuner.

Do any of these use OpenTV or Satmate (other than Solo)

A nice to have feature would be to record and play from duo.

These are the ones I have found.

DUOLABS QBOX MINI HD
Blade Media BM7000S
TM800HD
VU+ SOLO
Openbox S9 HD 800S2
Spiderbox HD 7000
Metabox CXCI 1CA

For EPG I'd look at either the TM800 or Qbox mini HD and the Solo. The Qbox will use OpenTV EPG through Crossepg. The TM800 will use Rytec EPG, but not satmate. The Solo will use EPG as your Duo.

To record and play from Duo I'd look at the Solo as that uses Networks mounts very well, not sure about the others.

I would say a solo or maybe wait for the new box which should be with us soon.

It should be called the uno from memory.

Yes forgot about that, Uno being released shortly, but dont expect it to be in the price range of the current Solo. Its not replacing the Solo, its an addition to the range, will be more expensive.

i got a hold of a solo for cheap and best decision i made in gettin it cuz it does everything the vu duo does except the 2 tuners. get a solo if you can, or any of the others suggest above
