ISO 8859-2 Subtitles

Is it possible to have ISO 8859-2 encoding for subtitle font ? For certain languages subtitles don't show up correctly when they contain special characters. I was browsing the web all day long, looking for a solution, but haven't found anything :(

I've found a workaround for Romanian subtitles...if there are romanians here interested, post here and I'll write a tutorial ;)

Well, I'm not Romanian but I know that Greek text subtitles (ISO 8859-7) can be seen if you convert them to UTF8 encoding...
If you found out how you can change the default text encoding, please let me know :)
