I am using latest version of OpenPLI 2.0 (4 march 2011) . Everything seems to work just perfect on the Clark Tech ET9000 but the video enhancement plugin is simply not working. I have installed the plugin from the GUI download. It looks like it is installed but cant be found anywhere in the menu's.

Has anyone had success in getting the video enhancement plugin working ?

I like to use a little block noise and mosquto noise reduction on the SD channels. It works very well in VU+DUO with the same version of OpenPLI.

The ET9000 does not need this plugin.

The ET9000 does not need this plugin.

Do you know why it is not required ?

The only reason I can think of is if the broadcom hardware is able to analyse the video and only
apply block noise and mosquito noise filter in aereas of the picture where it is needed.

If the filters in Clark Tech is static filters it is really a bad idea not letting the user control the filter settings.
The filtersettings in receivers supporting Video enhancement is subject to personal taste/subjective quality.
Well maybe I just get abstinence when I can't tweak all settings :D

I think VU+ with video enhancement + upscaling to 1080i gives better subjective quality on SD services. Anyway SD
services is crap and I watch HD services 99% of the time.

The VU is a looser, the only winner is ET9000.
VU need plugins to make a good picture, the ET has the brilliant picture original.

i have a vu duo a vu solo and a et9000

and as much as i love all 3 of em i would never give up my duo for anything

i'd sooner give awway the solo or et900 before my duo goes anywhere

Having had both the DUO for over 12 months and the et9000 for 3 weeks, I have to say both are about the same, diff in processor is hardly noticeable in real world operation and the VFD on the VU is better than the ET9000
