Is the Superior Dark Metal Gear Motor better than any other motor?

If so, how is it better than any other motor?

It's just that I want to buy 1 of the following dish packs:-

Thanks

Both offers seem ok, except for the pole mount on offer, I would go for a T/K mount, and pole
also the price is,nt that spectacular, and it might be an idea, to contact the forum sponcer, I bet he can match the price or better
the Darkman motor is a better motor, in that its more robust

When you say the Darkman motor is better, do you mean it will be better in searching for satellites (faster etc)?

no, both motors on offer, would be about the same, the Darkman Motor, has metal gears, as oppsed to plastic gears

as for searching for sats, thats down to alignment/dish size, and quality of the lnb, and the tuner, and coax cable quality/length

Which is the best pole/stand for a Triax TD110 dish for an area which can be quite windy with rain etc.

Will a 550mm Steel Wall Mount be sufficient or will I need T&K wall brackets?

I would go for the T/K mount
also, I would set the dish/motor assembly between the T/K mount
this would do a few things for you, as it will hide the wall mount, and also it will mean zero pole whip
( max stability in windy areas )

Should I go for the 12", 18" or the 24" T&K brackets for the Triax TD110 dish?

If its going on a south faceing wall, ( true south at 90 degrees from the wall ) then the 18" will be ok

you have to allow for dish travel

ie, distance from wall including the motor needs to be .6 of a mtr

so if true south is at a 45 degree angle, the dish on the mount, would be a lot closer to the wall, and you would want a 24"

If you intend to have the dish above your gutter/eves, your dish would then need a much stronger pole, and most likely, a 3rd wall bracket

My back garden wall faces 'east' and the dish will be going above a conservatory, do you think I will get away with 18" T&K?

My advice is to get a proffesional sat installer, sounds like a risky set up to me

big dish, strong winds, and a conservatory,....bad mix
