Ok Guys looking at jumping on the motorised dish wagon, what do you recommend, where to buy the parts?

I do have one small problem though, in that I live in a semi detached converted bungalow with rooms in the roof, the front of the house points south, but can mount the dish at the back of the house, this will be above roof level though, is this a problem with regulations ECT.

As you know I have the VU+duo box, hopefully there will be no problem using a motor dish, or will I need something else to make it work correctly?

Thanks in advance.

I've attached a picture of my setup. My guess is your will be similar. I'm using a Technomate TM-2600 motor, all metal geared, very very good.

My dish is a 1.2m Triax on 3"pole with T & K brackets. As you'll see its just above the gutter level. I've had no complaints from neighbours/council etc..

Our sponsor has some good dish packs available http://www.*********.co.uk/Dishes-and-Dish-Packs-Satellite-Dish-Packs/c73_79/p362/1m-/-100cm-Motorised-Dish-Pack-%28very-high-quality-components%29/product_info.html Take a look there. The mount in the link above might not be suitable for you.

Thanks Sic

I have been looking at the ********* and the price looks very good for the package, the only thing I can see though is the wall mount might be a problem, as I will need to put the dish up a little higher that the wall mount will allow.
Where did you get your T & K brackets and 3" pole?

A friend of mine for me the pole and brackets. If your using a dish smaller than 1.2m you will prob get away with a 2" pole. I had to change mine to 3" cos it really catches the wind where it is. Send an email to *********, he might have some T & K brackets, if not google around. Just make sure you buy them long enough to clear the gutter when the pole goes past it.

here are some pics of the back and side of the house.

As you can see, the back looks the best place, but have not ruled out going above the sky sat disk on the side of the house.

Thanks again for all your help.

Looking at the third picture you might get away moving the sky dish down a bit and using the mount in that dish pack, provided its mounted far enough forward to clear the roof as it works west, might just get away with it.
