Please forgive my ignorance, as i know nothing yet about a receiver that i'm planning on buying!
The receiver is a Clarke Tech ET 9000 HD Enigma2 (500GB Harddrive), which has conax inbedded.
My questions are:-
1a. How is this receiver correctly flashed to get EMU running (to open additional channels), as was possible with SAMSUNG DSR9500?
1b. Is there a step-by-step (for dummies!) guide for flashing this box?
1c. What do i need to FIRST, as soon as i get the receiver, in order to upload softcam files etc? For example, do i need to upload a boot-loader to the receiver FIRST, or do i simply upload a single file, thus flashing the receiver (including a boot-loader) automatically?
1d. If i need to upload a boot-loader in order to run softcam files, will this boot loader affect the inbedded conax that this receiver i'm buying has (VERY IMPORTANT!), as i would like to use my original conax card with this receiver?
1e. What program is used, and how are files transferred from pc to receiver.... is this done through an ethernet cable connected to router, or can a USB stick be used instead to do this?
2. Which are the best types of files to open additional channels for this receiver....are these 'Softcam', or if not, which other files work best?
3. As this is a HD receiver, will it work with a Plasma TV that is ONLY HD READY?
My current Home Theatre system is connected to my old (to be replaced) Samsung DSR9500 box by optical SP/DIF cable i think it's called.
4. Can someone please tell me what the optical input on this receiver is called, as i've seen 2 different types of optical cable, and want to be sure i can connected this receiver to my existing surround system (Sony DAV-DZ810W)?
5. What is the program used to save channel lists to my pc for this receiver?
I'd really appreciate some step-by-step instructions, for a beginner, on how to upload firmware/files etc to a Clarke Teech ET 9000HD receiver (and if a USB stick or Ethernet cable is the best way of doing this).
hope someone can help.... i'd really appreciate it!
thanks in advance,
regards,
