View Full Version : Vix 2.0 frozen
Reflashed Vix 2.0 image then done software updare downloaded 89 updates and now when box restarts it freezes, got to swith off at back every time.
thats absolutely strange mate, wish i was round your area i woulda come round and tried to help ya. have you been able to try the box at someone elses just to see if its not anything at your property that could be causing it? maybe a faulty box but dont take my word for it, try and exhaust every option possible. unplug all other devices and so just ur reciever is connected, remove ethernet cable, usb, hdmi, unplug everything and just connect power cable and see if box boots up fine, then connect hdmi and work forward from there

Just rebooted going to try updates again see if it freezes after update.
keep doing updates, because i keep getting updates even after ive done some, i reboot and more updates lol so just do them till there no more updates
Thats strange as I have updated and only the one was done.
im just going to try again now and see if i get any more updates.... watch this space lol :p
EDIT: upgraded 1 package again. not sure why it keeps doing that
Are you rebooting after the update?
I updated yesterday and no more updates
yeh rebooting after update as it mentions, will do another 1 nw and see if it comes up with anything
Reflashed vix 2.0 done update all ok no more freezing BUT now using dcc wont up load from box, done network test and got local disconnected, lan/dhcp/ip address/name-server are all ok, is the the problem?.
no, local shows disconnected on everyones i think even mine and everything works fine. did you use username root and leave password blank or have you set a password for ftp? are you connecting to port 80 too? glad you got the box working though. hopefully we can get this lil problem fixed
I am using DCC E2 at moment how do i send files back to vu+.
You need to open a telnet session and change your password on the box and than type this into DCC and you will be able to FTP.
Use RUN in windows and than telnet vu ip address
login is root and password is blank IIRC
than one you have root up type passwd and change it to whatever you want.
Its a glitch in DCC even when no password has been set it throws a wobbly.
Messages,10053 socket error/software caused connection abort, when using VU+ Lee Hudson control centre, error VU CC.ini file missing in C:\USER~\APPDATA\LOCAL\TEMP\RARSFX261\AUTRUN~\ any one.
ok so your using VuCC, thats kool cuz i am using it. so what do you have in the Network section when you open up the program? This is what i have as my settings
IP Address: 192.168.x.x (IP of the Duo)
Username: root
Password (I have left blank as i have not setup a pass)
WebControl Port: 80
FTP Port: 21
Telnet Port: 23
did you setup a password the way stanman mentioned a few posts above?
Giving it a break for a while maybe a fresh look at it later may help, Thanks
hopefully mate, keep at it, we'll get there
Is there a telnet command to send files back to receiver using DCC E2.
You don't need a telnet command to achieve this. In DCC there are two windows and in the middle of this is a left tight arrows, you use these to move from or to the box, will need to make sure the folders you want to move the file to is in the active window.
