When pressing button for time shift get mesage, could not activate permanent-timeshift,timeshift-path does not exist. It did work but must have f++ked up something again.

Have you installed a hard drive?

this will only work with a hard drive fitted and it has been initialized

just go into menu/setup/system/recording path and see where the Timeshift Location is, mine is media/hdd/

Yes hard drive installed did have it working try initializing hard drive again.

Timeshift path is in the media/hdd/ initialized hard drive, but same message.

Notice there is no red light now on front of receiver although the timeshift is enabled.

Is your hard drive mapped to /media/hdd?

It may be mounted as /media/sda1 or something like that. Look through the Vix menus, there is somewhere to map your drives. I don't have VIX loaded at the moment and can't remember where exactly.

No timeshift file just ISO/SYSTEM VOLUME.

ok if you go to media/hdd what permissions are set on the HDD folder? should be 755

Btw, if permanent timeshift it enabled you will see a red icon on the screen. You will not need to press timeshift button as its already running.

Files in media/hdd is ISO/STSTEM/VOLUME, timeshift setings are enable =yes max/lenth=240 delay=005 actoin on zap= ask user stop timeshift=while recording show pts= yes.

Dont look like its correctly initialized.

You using latest VIX? Please confirm image.

thats strange, in media/hdd i dont have any of those files :| try what basset posted above it seems hdd isnt initialized properly

Try and initialize hard drive again see what happens , might have to reflash by the looks of it.

Using latest vix 2.0 image.

Do this as follows and be patient!

Menu > Setup > Hardrive > Initialize. You will then be told you can carry on watching TV.

To check progress of the Initialize press the Blue button, you will see the progress at the top of the Extensions list ;)

Wait till is full initialized.

Do you get a message saying you can carry on watching TV?

This is what I would do.

Flash with latest official image. Initialize HDD, then flash back ViX 2.0.

Yes i think your right, the trouble is i need to take strong medication every 3 hours and it is f+++ing my brain up, i do get the odd good day, and then i go and cockup everything the next, and before you ask i am not smoking pot/weed. I feel i am just wasting members time due to my illness but hay i am going to give it another try if all else fails maybe there is a member who has the time to help me set up by TeamViewer. Thanks All for your help so far.

dont worry about it mate, ive reflashed mine god knows how many times by messing around with things, u live and learn and thats why this forum was open, to help people out no matter what :p :D

Great guys, i am in Norfolk off the A47 if any body is near if not i have TeamViewer installed, let you now how i get on with Vix 2.0 reflash.
