Have you installed a hard drive?
this will only work with a hard drive fitted and it has been initialized
just go into menu/setup/system/recording path and see where the Timeshift Location is, mine is media/hdd/
Yes hard drive installed did have it working try initializing hard drive again.
Timeshift path is in the media/hdd/ initialized hard drive, but same message.
Notice there is no red light now on front of receiver although the timeshift is enabled.
Still no advice on how to solve problem.
Is your hard drive mapped to /media/hdd?
It may be mounted as /media/sda1 or something like that. Look through the Vix menus, there is somewhere to map your drives. I don't have VIX loaded at the moment and can't remember where exactly.
Yes hard drive is maped as /media/hdd.
ftp into media/hdd/ and see if you have a file in there starting with timeshit.xxxxxx
No timeshift file just ISO/SYSTEM VOLUME.
ok if you go to media/hdd what permissions are set on the HDD folder? should be 755
Blu-ray, in media/hdd, what files are listed?
can u copy here what your "Permanent Timeshift Settings" are, in Menu/Setup/System/Permanent Timeshift

Here is a great sticky about Disc initialisation (http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?2894-Disc-installation-initialisation-illustrated-tutorial-v2&highlight=initialisation) read part 2 onwards as you have the HDD installed

Btw, if permanent timeshift it enabled you will see a red icon on the screen. You will not need to press timeshift button as its already running.
Files in media/hdd is ISO/STSTEM/VOLUME, timeshift setings are enable =yes max/lenth=240 delay=005 actoin on zap= ask user stop timeshift=while recording show pts= yes.
