View Full Version : Stream issue from local server

Hi all,

Purchased my Duo 4K SE in Jan 2022 from WoS, all was initially fine.

Have configured my unit to connect to some local SMB/Windows Server shares - and since day 1 have been working fantastically, few/any issues.

However, in the last 6 months or so I have noticed that when I watch content from these shares that the video/audio cuts out anywhere between 10-50 minutes, the box doesn't remember where it stopped by - I have to re-start the file and find roughly where it stopped.

When this happened last night I quickly checked the temperature via Information, and it advised it was at 60degC.

I know it is not the files, as I can play the very same files on either my Solo 2 or Solo 4K box(s) with no issue.

The box is on the latest version of Openvix (6.5.003), which I installed cleanly (formatted the SSD).

Wondering if it is overheating, or if the thermal paste is known to break down, or maybe the heatsink is not keeping the cpu cool enough - hopefully someone will have some info.

Interestingly, recordings made on the box itself don't seem to suffer the same issue - they play fine. It's only files being streamed over the network which seem to be problematic (file types are MKV or MP4 in either x264 or x265 @ 1080p mostly)

Any advice is very much appreciated.

Thanks, Vaughn.
