View Full Version : [VU+ Ultimo4K] OpenWebIf timer added via "Edit Timers" has recording date as 1970 instead of present day

Let's say I'm adding a timer for a programme starting a few hours from now. If I add the timer directly on the box via the record button or Add Timer via OpenWebIf then there's no problems but on OpenWebif if I instead choose "Edit Timer" when adding the timer then whether I change the recording time or not the timer added will be for "1/1/1970" instead of the correct date. That also causes the timer to start recording immediately instead of the scheduled time because 1970 is in the past! This problem was also in previous Vix images.

I add a timer via Edit Timer for things such as live events because they often overrun their scheduled time so I need to add a few hours onto the end time. To get around the bug I need to add the timer as normal and then in OpenWebIf I can go into the timers and edit the timer.

Is the time on your computer correct?

Speculation: A time/date of midnight 1/1/1970 may indicate that a battery backup of a real time clock on your computer has failed and/or your computer is not fetching the correct time from aa NTP server on the Net.

Yes the time on both my box and PC is correct. My PC is automatically synchronized with time.windows.com

There's been a bug there for ages (you can't change the recording location either, which is what I reported)
Try adding the timer on OpenWebIF and saving it. Then edit it.

You have lost me, can you not extend the end time when you set timer in the first place or record the prog after??

You have lost me, can you not extend the end time when you set timer in the first place or record the prog after??You can if you select Edit timer rather than Add timer (i.e. you can add one by editing one).

And my comment about editing a timer later should actually mean that you edit it via the timers list, not using the EPG-based options.

Where do you edit timers in WebIf? I can only see auto timers.

Also is this behaviour the same in OpenATV?

On OpenWebIf > Television > find a channel and click on "Show EPG" button to the left of the channel name. Click on "Edit Timer" to add a timer for a programme you want to record in the future such as 1 hour from now. You can now set the start or end time but if you do or not then then click on "Save" the timer will start recording NOW as the start time's year has been changed to 1970 instead of 2024.

In OpenWebIf, taking the timers option under Main provides a list of timers, each with an edit icon above the trash can icon in the left hand side of the timer detail.
