What you may be seeing is people new to Enigma2 box and buying their first box. They may/will ask questions about getting their box (and dish/LNB) configured to do what they want it to do. Once set-up and working they will probably leave it alone in this working state.

What you are seeing is a SMALL number of posts by people who like to tinker. What you are not seeing posts by many thousands of Enigma 2 users who have their boxes working and have left them alone. They don't need to post to forums because they have a working system.

If your box is working - just leave it alone.

Just because someone else does something else with these boxes with a lot of time, effort, money and a lot of research/knowledge doesn't mean you have to copy them. You may find that it results in little or no reward with regards with what you actually watch on TV.

Also remember that these forums are international. People posting are not necessarily from the same country as you and their configurations may have to be completely different from yours.
Someone from one country may be living in a different country and they may want to receive TV from their country of origin and in their native language. This is where you may see posts suggesting much larger dishes pointing at different satellites. You don't need to copy the advice you see unless you want "foreign" TV and can speak the language :).
