View Full Version : Getting an 8x1 switch to work with a VU
Hi, I have just bought a Wave frontier T90. i currently have an 8 port switch but very nearly bought the 16 port one.
I then realised that there is no option for DiSEqC a/b/c/d/e/f/g/h...
Oh dear :/
does anyone know how to do this? i read that it is possible but i cant figure it out.
Also would it be possible to do this on a future image? when a user selects Diseqc it could ask... how many LNBs?

I think the above link might help you
A freind of mine has your setup, working on a DM800,

8/1 DiSEqC switch P.168 V2, P.168-W V2
Example of setting for receiver Dreambox 800 ( same as VU+ BUT REMEMBER WHICH TUNER YOU USE)
for each LNB set parameter in highlighted line to number of used input of the switch
Im running 16 LNBs off 4x4 diseq switches which is off a 1x4 diseq switch which is in mode one. Its a while since I set it up so im a bit rusty. But to be quite honest im not clear how you are going to run an 8x1 switch because each input only allows for 4 LNB's (named AA, AB, BA and BB in the 'Committed DISEQ Command' column as per image in Baz's post above).(Go to MENU>SETUP>SERVICE SEARCHING>TUNER CONFIG. Set config mode to ADVANCED to see this page.)
The only way I can see around it is to, in that same column, name each LNB as an input ie Input 1, Input 2 to Input 8). Im not sure how this will pan out but you could give it a go. I would think you may possibly have to change the 'Command Order' as well.
Good luck
Maybe this can help you, or maybe not -

does anyone know how to do this? i read that it is possible but i cant figure it out.In advanced tuner mode -> DiSEqC mode 1.1. You address an 8 way switch using Uncommitted DiSEqC command: Inputs 1 thru 8. And set Committed DiSEqC command to: None.
Thanks guys, dish went up today, all LNBs are sorted, now begins the complex part of the switching process.
Let us know what you think of this setup, been toying with the idea of getting a wave frontier myself.
