View Full Version : [VU+ Duo2] wierd stand-by behaviour
Hi,
recently I noticed that when I press the "stand-by" button the STB goes black, I mean no image, no LCd no display , nothing for about 15-20 seconds, then tha lcd appear and everything seems OK,
Is this normal? From what I remember there was no delay.

Nope, it's doing it again, I have no idea why, but it doesn't seem to have any other bad effects...
Maybe I'll try a reinstall from USB and see if it's some kind of corruption.

Switch on debug logs and after it does this weird thing save the log and post it here..
I tried with the Debug on, but either the required reboot or the fact that debug was on ( I had this happen with software I wrote...) fixed things.
After more than two days and several on-off it never happened again. Switched Deb( I don't know if there is a limit with it on) off and we'll see what happens.

It doesn't alter any code that is executed by enigma2 - the message get printed anyway.
Hi,
finally I have the debug log with the delay.
I don't know if it can be useful to understand what's in the file, but I had the debug on for a couple days and the first time I had the 15-20sec delay I immediately disabled the debug and rebooted (I had to stop a record first).

Hi,
I updated to 6.4 but the weird behaviour is still there....
I made a log, but for a while all it seemed OK, then it happened again not the 15-20sec as before but about 9-10sec.
I tink the relevant part is this (from the button presses to go into standby and the one that switched it on again)
I'll upload the entire log too...

Is there any particular reason why you have ~11,000 services which do not appear in any bouquets?

If you perform a scan using functions in Enigma2 and nota plugin, they are not added to any bouquet by default. The last scanned always changes. I regularly watch from the orbital list. Pity selection only allows 1 letter.

About normal for Motorised dish.

No idea, I just downloaded a setting for HotBird and Astra and built my "favorite" from that...
I don't think I ever did a full scan...

No idea what the problem could be? If there is a problem....

Is it the prog to modify the small screen? Yes I used that.

you only have Astra and Hotbird? Which settings did you download? Astra and Hotbird only have 3500-4000 services.

It was the Vhannibal (http://www.vhannibal.net/) HB+Astra+DDT settings.

OK, should I delete the plugin (is it a plugin?) Or delete or rename my configuration and revert to the default? Where is the config file?

Make sure you have a settings backup (blue button, ViX plugin, settings backup)
I would go to plugins (long blue on remote) red button, extension … remove
I removed the lcd4linux but then the LCD and other display remained black and I couldn't see if there was a delay,
so I removed my configuration ( maybe that was the problem) and reloaded tthe plugin and now there is what I suppose is the default: just the time when in stan-by and the channel name when on.
After a few days I noticed a little delay (4-5 sec) but not the 15-20sec I had before.... we'll see if it worsen.
Is there a way to have something on the lcd without lcd4? I'd like to try that.
G
If LCD4Linux is disabled, then \etc\enigma2\skin_user.xml must be cleared out of <!--L4L01 On-->, <!--L4L02 Mediaplayer--> and <!--L4L03 Idle--> references. Otherwise LCD display is black no matter what display skin you use.

Can you explain further? Why would /etc/enigma2/skin_user.xml affect the display skin?
LCD4Linux is writing to skin_user.xml this to my Ultimo4K : (SummaryTemplate is the problem)

What a load of rubbish. The plugin should not be writing to that location. That is a user location for users to modify the gui skin.
Also, why is it duplicating items

No idea. Not really sure what any of it is for, or why anyone would need a picture of the moon on their front panel. Armchair astronomers?
:D I have on one screen phases of the moon on LCD display when the box is at Idle...
How is it possible to have something on the LCD screen without using lcd4linux?
I'd like to see if that is my problem, the delay now is about 30sec...
G
Hi,
create your own skin_user.xml but additional content must be supported by the skin I think.
Ralf
Hi,
I updated my STB (to 6.4.10, I think) and the weird delay seems to have disappeared. This time for real, it seems, it's been several days without it. I have no idea what could have fixed it, the list of changes is enormous!
Thanks for your work,
G
