Have you tried a software update? The latest version of Ocram picons on Vix server is 17th February. Should incorporate most changes. Hopefully there will be another update to incorporate this week's changes.

Yes I’ve done the latest up date

The Ocram picons on their repository on github are built every Saturday night. You can download the ipk from there on Sunday. If you coherently say the name of the picon pack, people can assist you in downloading it.

Otherwise you will have to wait for the next set of picons to be built on the Vix server.

It's possibly the fact that all the new regional HD service names are not linked to the existing picons, maybe?

The links on ocram github are fine. P.S, the links are to logos, not picons.

I have asked on the Vix Skype chat if we can have anther picon build.

No - I understand that the links are to the /logos/*.png picons. You can link any service to a .png file. I'm presuming that there is no specific "London BBC1" (or any other regional BBC1) picon? I've noticed the "country" picons for BBC, but not regional.

I disagree. We are looking at two different items. I am looking at the repository from where they are created, they are mainly svg files. A logo existing without a link will not result in a picon file. You are looking on the receiver, at the installed/outdated output. Yes, adding the links locally will work. But I don't think it is in the OP's toolkit, without meaning to cause offence.

@abu - just for my own information where do I find the service name that the picon display uses to find the relevant .png file? For example - bbconehd, bbconelondon, bbconelon and bbconelonhd all point to the same file in the /logos subdirectory of /picon, so obviously any service with that name will display the standard BBC 1 logo.

Joe_90
25-02-23, 14:24
@abu - it's ok - I worked it out. It's the actual service name displayed on the service information menu screen with the spaces and special characters removed and all in lowercase. For example BBC Parliament HD is displayed as BBC Parl HD, so the link becomes bbcparlhd.png. I put that link in the /picon folder to /logos/bbcparliament.png and the picon displays correctly. I understand the OP may want to wait for the official picon pack update.

Can you post a link to the Ocram data on github, please? I looked earlier but found only old files.

The BBC1 picon for Yorkshire has been updated on github, but I don't think the list has made it to OpenVix just yet.

Please post the exact name of the picon pack you are using.

Or take a clear picture when you are in this menu:
Menu > Plugins > Red (Remove plugins) > Picons

Done press OK on anything, just go into the menu and take a clear picture.

You have to save them to your PC first. Here is a guide for next time.

They're produced automatically by github but it often fails to produce all the packages and
enigma2-plugin-picons-snp-full.220x132-190x102.light.on.transparent is missing again this time.

Why don't you guys just use the feeds? Or build the package yourselves.

@deltec is using the ones from the feeds as are so many others. Sometimes there are several months between updates of the picons on the feeds. Nobody actually knows what the build policy/frequency is.

You could have just said, the picons on the feeds have been updated to 28 Feb 2023. @deltec, perform a software update and the picons you installed from the feeds will be updated.
Menu > Information > About > Yellow (software updated)

Sometimes there are several months between updates of the picons on the feeds. That was due to a build error which I fixed. Anyway maybe someone else should build them if the current update cycle is not good enough. Resources are limited. Right now I am building over 60 machines.

Also, using the supplied script every single picon is rebuilt, not just the ones that have changed. Would take seconds to run if it just built what was needed.

abu baniaz
02-03-23, 20:34
I was not aware there was a build error between November and January. I can't comment on the build cycle as it has never been publicised.

Maybe we can have a half way house. As I mentioned earlier, the openvision version copies the ones on the picons repo. Obviously won't work around the docker/curl issues on the picons repo.

Thank you for clarifying. I was unaware that scriot determined when the ones available on the Vix image were updated. I thought you decided when the ones on the vix server were built.

My apologies. I stand corrected.

Huevos
02-03-23, 22:43
No, it doesn't determine when vix is updated. The script is what is used to build the picons. When the picons are built just depends on me running the script and that depends on available resources.

But the script is there, so anyone that wants to can build them.
