Sat on top of a blu ray player under tv in an open unit with very good airflow

Sounds normal. These processors run hot but as long as you don't get any pixelation its not a problem. I did replace the heatsink in mine which brought it down to around 70C but I dont recommend trying this as its easy to damage the PCB removing the existing heatsink.

Probably OK - a bit high but not unduly so. I assume your Bluray player is off and not generating additional heat.

As a test try getting more airflow beneath the unit by raising it up on two scraps of wood or, say, two match boxes etc.. If this lowers the temperature by 10C then consider higher feet. In similar circumstances I have just made feet from a stack of stick on felt pads

Use the smallest diameter pads in a stack

Sky supplied boxes are bad with insufficient airflow beneath them. Friends on mine have two Sky boxes and unless raised higher above the surface they are placed on they run extremely hot and in the Summer would actually cut-out when they got too hot. Higher feet cured the problem.

stuck some rubber feet under the box so lifted box up by few cm got it down to 72c now
