View Full Version : GigaBlue UHD UE 4K cant record and watch
hi everyone,
I have a GigaBlue UHD UE 4K, tuner A is connected to a diseq switch for 13 + 19 + 28 ,the same for tuner B in a second diseq.
When I record from 1 channel many channels in the same satellite become un-available I can’t watch them , so if I'm recording an episode from the worst season so far from a certain baking show on channel 4 then e4 and channel 5 and many others become greyed out and i cant watch them.
the receiver is behaving as if it is a single tuner, i have tried to record from 4 channels then more channels were un-available. can you please tell me if i can fix this and how, or should i return it to amazon as it is still few days old order.
im using the current openvix image 6.2.010 / Kernel / Drivers: 4.1.20 / 20200723
thanx

post pictures of your sat setup, something wrong in the definition
small update, i just notice that sat 28 was not connected in tuner b, now i have mended that, but if i record 2 programs at the same time many channels become un-available.

Tuner B does not look like its connected to 28.2, so once Tuner A is on 28.2 you dont have another
as you can see in image 6 both tuners have 19 + 13 +28 , if i record 2 programs in 28, many channels in 28 are inaccessible as u can c in image 7, and 13 + 19 r completely inaccessible.

We have an existing thread where FBC tuners and universal LNBs have an issue on ViX. Fine on PLI apart from the efilepush lockup. In my opinion, issue could in the recording/timer files and not the tuning files.
https://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?65351-Inactive-tuners
"FBC Automatic" is "internal loop-through" when required. When not being used, they show as inactive.
A universal LNB can only ever be in one of the four planes/modes/bands/whatever name floats your boat. i.e Hi, Low, Vertical or Horizontal. There will always be limitations when using a universal LNB. But the issue here is a bug that has not yet been fixed while others say it has.
If the bug is in record timer why does it show wrong in channel selection?
i have now tried openpli image and with it i can record a maximum of 2 programs simultaneously and still can watch any channel from any satellite without any problem. so far default image + openatv 7 + openvix ,only allowed me to record 1 program that's it.
There is simple solution go and buy FBC/SCR LNB like this https://www.pollin.de/p/red-opticum-scr-lnb-unicable-legacy-3-572212

so this means the receiver is not defective, as i was thinking of returning it to amazon because of this issue and because gigablue support didn't help or offer any solution and because the remote control is not very responsive .
thanks for your help everyone

So just to clarify:
Tuner A has its own cable which is connected to a DiSEqC switch routed to 3 LNBs.
Tuner B has its own cable which is connected to a different DiSEqC switch (i.e. there are 2 switches) routed to different ports of the same 3 LNBs.
