Vix 6.1.XXX didn't last very long and we now have 6.2.XXX:confused:ViX 6.1 and 6.2 are very similar. Both are built from oe-alliance-core branch 5.1.

Recently the OpenEmbedded submodule was updated from Honister to Kirkstone.

This meant that a module used in handling the network connection (libzstd.so) was updated. So part way through the online upgrade process the network connection would be lost and it was impossible to complete the upgrade. So the team made the decision to bump the build version and force users to flash from scratch.

There are only minor functional differences in 6.2. We have mainly spent the last 3 months fixing as many known/reported bugs as possible.

Should you upgrade? Yes. Feeds and images for version 6.0 and 6.1 will be removed soon, so best to upgrade right now. Just download the new version in ImageManager and flash and restore. We have worked hard to make this process as easy as possible for our users. In Menu-> Setup -> ViX -> ImageManager, press YELLOW to download the new image. Once downloaded press BLUE to flash. An automatic backup is made. And then the box flashes itself and the first install wizard shows. Select restore. The automatic backup that was created just before flashing will be the first on the list. Select this and then yes, yes, to the following questions. The box will reboot and you are done. It's painless.

So, if you liked 6.1, upgrade to 6.2 because it is essentially the same thing and the 6.1 feeds are about to be discontinued.
