Hello

Recently updated and noticed 'Transmission' plugin is no longer in feeds. Do any of the devs know if it will be returning or alternativly does anyone have a working .ipk I can use to install manually?

As always thanks in advance for any help or advice given.

Hello thanks for your help. I have been on github but don't understand where to find the required plugin (ipk), or what file I need and how to install.

I've only ever installed .ipk before and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where did you get the ipk?

I have found a couple of .ipk versions on other forums, however none of them have worked. I have used this plugin constantly and am gutted that it is no longer in the feeds. Willing to learn manuel install etc but have no idea where to start.

ipk install keeps stating something regarding daemon???

As always thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for your help but neither of the 2 ipk's worked. Both produced the same outcome. Any ideas???

they are correct for your box, but unfortunately neither libssl3.0 or libcrypto3 are built for your box so cannot supply these dependencies

Ok thanks for your help starting to understand that its a compatibility issue as the image was updated from python2 to python3.

As the plugin may not be updated for a while I was going to back to one of 5.4 so I can still use transmisson..... only thing is I need if a copy of the old 'transmission' plugin from the feeds, if anyone can help???

I have tried the versions in the post above in both images and neither work.

As always thanks in advance to anyone who can help

Hi gedclarke, same problem as you since I went from 5.4 to 6.3, on my mutant HD51. Was going to try to go back to 5.3, but I guess the plugin feeds will now be dead, so will have to try and source transmission.ipk. Did you make any progress with this. Thanks

What does this plugin do?

This is a PLi plugin and not converted for Py3.

Was a good plugin to download torrents to your enigma box, don't think it's been updated in years tho?

If I could go back to old image, say 5.3 would the plugin for transmission still be available. Anyone got a link for old image file, so I try it, can’t seem to find any archive images for openvix.

You are concentrating on the wrong thing. The problem is the plugin needs bringing up to date, not that everyone should use out of date images. Get on to the maintainers of the plugin so they bring it up to date. Best you post on OpenPLi forum as it is their plugin.

Py3 is 15 years old and Py2 completely abandoned by the developers, so this plugin should be using Py3, not Py2 that was first released 23 years ago. PLi are currently in the process of updating to Py3. But you are going to need to ask for this to be updated as it seem the intention is to just park the older plugins such as this one that hasn't been touched in more than 6 years.

Depends: libc6 (>= 2.36), libcrypto3 (>= 3.0.7), libcurl4 (>= 7.86.0), libevent-2.1-7 (>= 2.1.12), libssl3 (>= 3.0.7), libz1 (>= 1.2.13)

These are all available on Duo2 release feeds.

From command line do:

init 4 && opkg update && opkg install transmission

Read any error messages and then afterwards type reboot.
