View Full Version : £50 job to mod the Magic HD Night skin to add extra rows and remove wasted space

I'd like a mod done to the "Magic HD Night" skin where more of the unused space is allocated to extra rows. At the moment the max rows (channels) you can have is 20. I'd like to have at least 2 extra rows up to maximum of 5 extra rows. If possible could you also change it to 1080p instead of 720p.

Here's a screenshot mockup example of what I'd like it to look like:

Need to get this done before April 25th. Will pay £50 for the job.

You can't hire someone on this forum to do coding for you. This is an open source project and openvix is free.

It's not coding for me. It's moding the existing skin to add it as a different skin for the Vix community. I'm just paying someone to do the job. Is that allowed?

Well as a paying job 50 quid to convert a skin from 720 to 1080 is about a 1/10 of the correct price.

And as we the coders are doing a lot more work without any financial benefit it would be outrageous for any forum member to profit at all out of openvix.

What's your suggestion then for how to get this task done? I don't have the knowledge or the time to do it myself. Shall I ask on a coding website?

If you don't have the time use what is currently available.

Stick with the maximum 20 rows (increasing it to 25 is no big deal) using a skin which is fully maintained.

A one off change may not work in 6 months time.

Can you recommend any skins that look good with at least 22 rows or more please.

Why can't you modify it? It's not complicated, its just a skin.

Do you have any instructions please? Where is the skin located?
After editing it do I just delete the skin file on the box or is there a command I need to run to put it to sleep or something before I copy it back to the box?

24 rows, all skins come with the image, you need to try them out for yourself.

This is on 6.1.004 (Release), I see you're still on 5.4.014

I'm confused by what you said. Those skins don't seem to allow me to set 24 rows by default. Do I need to edit line 142 of this to increase the number of rows like you mentioned in another thread?:
