how come every image i try the dream box edite conects ok and the dcc but when i try to use the vix image none of then work even changed the pass words still nothing very strangeb atv works open blackhole etc etc etc well u guys tell me i have been in this game for 30 years
If it works with BlackHole but not OpenViX it is something you are doing differently, because the underlying image is identical.
What does "none of then work" mean?

Instead of just saying it doesn't work, why not try a simple alternative like filezilla - if that doesn't work then its a serious issue and needs fixing.
So try it and then we can work backwards to seeing why the quoted utilities fail for you.
password set in image openvix ? Use DCC E 2.40 that one works fine.
We’re do I find the dcc240 then by the way the open at works fine and the open black hole with the 150 doc and the dream box edite

yes iv checked every thing it doe not work all othere images do SOME THING IS SERIOUSLEY RONG WITH THE IMAGE
Just powered up my old windows PC, installed Dreambox Editor, setup settings, pulled in Bouquets, edited, transferred back … 5 minute job

Dcc … took longer (had to register dreambox forum, find a version that worked (issues with dcc)
Downloaded dcce2 v 1.42
Setup IP address and password.
Connected

"If you are doing things correctly, you may have discovered a bug that nobody else has." - that can always be true, but I downloaded versions of both software packages last night and with the latest ViX images I had no issues connecting and manipulating stuff
I use DreamboxEdit 7.2.1.0 (x64) with OpenVix image 5.4.016. The dreamboxEdit settings say HTTP port 80, FTP port 21, user root, password > the default password which is set in the image. >> And it works I can download and upload my channels. Check your password setting in OpenVix - password is mandatory.

Where ever you have set up logging to save them.
as far as i know there is no more default password.You have to set one yourself.even in 5.4

For time being, log in with Putty and lets see what it says
Also do same with Filezilla for FTP
Iv done it could some one explain the back up procedure to my usb stick it’s not doing it Why I’m lost
Bump no one am I better better just putting the image on to my sed in my ultimo

I understand that you have resolved the FTP/DCC problem. How did you resolve it?
With regards to making an Image backup,
What filesystem is the the USB stick in? It must be in ext file system as symlinks will need to be created.
Once you confirm it is in ext filesystem, press menu in image manage, one of the options will be location/device to use.

Issue this command in Putty or any other Telnet client.
df -Th
Post back the results.
It should show you also if you go to
Menu, Information, Devices
