Was looking at the Amazon firestick and was thinking would it work in the hdmi in port on the receiver as run out of hdmi ports on tv , or was it more to control a blu ray:confused:

Hdmi in actually works on ET10000 - however you might need an hdmi switch to handle restrictions (copyright)
Also not sure but maybe only 720 on hdmi in.

When you say restrictions do you mean some things only work in UK like BBC player?

And the audio may be limited to mono (I've also tried it on an ET10000)

No - wthout the switch (google), some signals are blocked (black screen) - so the easiest way round (although I think there is a helper for the Vu boxes) is to connect via a hdmi switch that removes this
Nothing to do with VPN restrictions like BBC player

You'd be better off buying an hdmi switch to increase the number of hdmi ports on your tv.
