View Full Version : [ABM-DVB-S/S2] No UHD Channels on HD+ Bouquets
Hi all,
I've just upgraded from a Vu+ Solo2 to a ZGemma H9 Twin to get UHD. After running ABM I notice I don't seem to have any of the UHD channels (UHD1 or demo channels) in any section. I've got every section for HD+ enabled, including non-indexed. I can manually scan the UHD frequency and the channels work (via the main tuner menu), but ABM doesn't seem to see them.
Would it be possible for ABM to create a UHD bouquet in the same way it does for HD/SD from each provider?
Also, when updating the config files in ABM the box crashes towards the end, around the HD+ #3 kind of time. Not something I've experienced before.
The box is brand new, with the latest OpenViX software, with good signal and wired ethernet 380Mbps connection.
Cheers all,
Bobby
I dont think that there are any UHD channels in the UK

This means nothing concrete. Please say the number. Menu > Information > About

Please upload the crash log that occurs when updating the provider files. I have the latest files on my image, so the update process does not kick in.
HD+ provider
That file is a lot of maintenance with adding several transponders/services. I think the person who used to do it passed away. It is open source and everybody can add changes/updates.
I doubt the 4K bouquet option can be added to all providers. Its is a global option and every provider will ask the question even if there are no 4K services. If only the questions were provider specific. It should however be possible to do so using a custom mix file

What is the frequency? Is it scanned in the ~19 provider files?
the frequencies are not in the provider files. I'm having a look at it now
I couldn't get ABM to scan 10994H (UHD1 by Astra) -CANNOT READ DATA even though I'm sure the data was correct but did get it to scan 11392H for RTL UHD but it doesn't appear in any bouquet.
This is what I am getting in the log:

Thanks for all the responses. The box is running OpenViX 5.4.012. ronand is correct with the UHD channels being on 10994H (ProSieben website info also shows symbol rate of 22000 and FEC of 5/6). I'll upload the log file tomorrow.
Cheers

The unencrypted UHD demo channels at 28.2°E are on 12441 V.
They work nicely on my Zgemma H7.

Is there an official provider list? (Not a list on a website by someone different to the Provider)
RTL UHD is on 11391
RTL UHD Austria is on 11214
QVC Zwei UHD is on 12343

I'm getting the FreeSat/FreeView test channel on 28.2E in its own little bouquet. Looks very nice, but the mainland Europe channels always seem to be better quality.
Latest crash log attached.
Thanks.

3F5:1 is the tsid : onid for this transponderHave you read the transponder and know what is present? Most likely that transponder only has "SDT Actual", not "SDT Other". What did you add in ABM to scan this?
Also, if you want ABM to find HEVC service the service type would need to be added.

That crash is in the skin. If anyone is interested in fixing it (not me), it happens here: https://github.com/OpenViX/skins/blob/master/src/skins/720/Red-HD/skin_Red-HD_Templates.xml#L396-L400
<screen name="MenuAppletConfigItemHeight35">
<applet type="onLayoutFinish">
self["config"].instance.setItemHeight(35)
</applet>
</screen>
Probably fixed by:
<screen name="MenuAppletConfigItemHeight35">
<applet type="onLayoutFinish">
try:
self["config"].instance.setItemHeight(35)
except AttributeError:
pass
</applet>
</screen>

That worked. Its now picking up the UHD channels and lumping them in with the Austrian channels. But its a start. I haven't been able to get dvbsnoop to do anything on my H7 to read the transponder unless there is an easier way?
Here are my xml files for the 2 transponders

Signal finder will do it. There was an HEVC commit for it too.
I've made a few changes to the xmls and created a new "Andere" bouquet in which the UHD channels will appear. I hope my German is ok

I've done a major overhaul of the HD+ ABM and it seems to be fairly ok now. UHD section created. One or two small things to sort in the next day or two. PR submitted.

@djbobw Please update your ABM provider files. The HD+ bouquets are now updated with a new UHD section. I left the SES UHD Demo channel in it even though its not part of the HD+ package.
You will need to add the following 2 files manually in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/AutoBouquetsMaker/providers (they will be included in future openvix builds)

Also I forgot that you will need the updated dvbscanner
Copy the attached file to /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/AutoBouquetsMaker/scanner
Delete the existing dvbscanner.pyo file and restart the GUI so the py can be compiled.
You should see a new dvbscanner.pyo file there now. You can now delete the .py file.
And the CustomLCN.xml needs to be manually updated too.
Put the attached file in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/AutoBouquetsMaker/custom
It crashes out otherwise (Cannot Read Data) when it finds a UHD channel. Thats the update you made yesterday.
Ok, you just mean use the latest version from the repo. :)

Thanks everyone for so much amazing work! I'm going to copy these files over and see what magic happens.

You need to follow all the steps in posts #21 and #22 to get it working not just copying those 2 files.

Everything put over and I've got the UHD bouquet now. Thanks for everyones hard work. Wish I could help but even looking in some of those files is giving me a headache!
Cheers again all
