Hi, I have Tivusat card (HD gold) with its CAM which I have been using directly in my TV. I recently bought a VU+ Zero 4K and I have tried the card (in both slots with and without CAM) but it does not work. I am new to the world of Enigma2 receivers and various images. I have the OpenViX 5.4 image and I have downloaded the Oscam (oscam-latest) directly from the plugins section. From what I have read around, I need to have some configuration files (oscam.conf, oscam.dvbapi, oscam.server, oscam.user) in the /etc/tuxbox/config/ folder. But I have absolutely no idea of what parameters or content those files should have in order for the Tivusat to work. Can someone help? Thank you very much in advance.

Thank you cargen. I had had a look at that thread but I had not noticed any available files (all links seemed dead or the files deleted). Now I realized that BefuddledBrian had still some files available. I copied them as they are into the /etc/tuxbox/config/ but still no luck (with or without CAM. Actually when I insert the cam I get an error: Authentication error, your tv set or decoded is not compatible with the CAM tivusat CI+).
Should I rather reply to that thread instead of continuing in this one?

Have you checked if oscam is running.
With a browser go to http://boxip:8888/status.html.

Hi, yes I have been trying without CAM now. The oscam should be running, since I have restarted it from the receiver menu. When I check the status via web, the first time it, the page loaded, then I keep on getting Access denied.

Hi, before using the OpenVIX 5.4, I had tested quickly the OpenATV 6.4 image and it was quite unstable in general. I'd still like to try and find the correct settings with the OpenVIX.

Hoping the card you have is not the black one, otherwise, as far as I know, is still not possible to use it without its own smartcam reader, add this section at the top of your oscam.server, because it's the same one I use.

[reader]

lb_weight = 1000
lb_force_fallback = 1
blockemm-unknown = 1

Actually, also oscam.dvbapi should be appropriately set, but, try just this for now.

Hi, last night was a very long one! I managed to find some conf files somewhere else and on their basis I made some changes to those that I had found in this thread https://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?63333-Tivusat-Oscam

First I did this:
httpallowed = 0.0.0.0-255.255.255.255

and the webif started to work. Thank you cargen for suggesting something similar.

Then in the server file I added:

nagra_read = 2
auprovid = 005411

And changed this:
emmcache = 1,1,2,0

Thank you also alexwilmac for posting your settings.

I also added a dvbapi file (found somewhere else) to the config folder. I did not even need to reboot, it started working after a couple of minutes! I don't know exactly what fixed the issues. In the process of trying with and without CAM I realized that at some point I also had inserted the card with the IC upward whereas it should be with the IC downward.

Anyway it seems to work now (without CAM). Thank you all of you for your help!

I have the gold (HD) card. Indeed I would like to buy the black 4K card, though I am not sure if it's worth just to watch a couple of 4K channels considering the very much likely trouble to go to make it work with my setup. Actually the main reason why I bought the VU+ is because I would like to buy a BIS TV viewing card (with Viaccess Secure Neotion module) and on my TV there is only one CAM slot, so I don't want to switch CAM all the time.

Black seems not readable by Oscam, at the moment. And, above all, there's no serious reason to have it: the only useful 4K channel (among those needing Tivusat) is Rai4K.

Indeed, the black card seems not working with Oscam, I was aware of it. I was just curious to test if it's by any means possible to make my VU+ Zero 4K recognize the CAM that comes with it. Actually in the first place, even with my current gold (HD) card, I had tried with it's CAM but I never got rid of this error: "Authentication error: your TV set or decoder is not compatible with CAM tivusat CI+". So by looking for a solution to that, I entered the world of Oscam...

As for the reason to get the 4K black card (+CAM), well it's a matter of taste (and how people want to waste their money :). For that matter, you don't even need the black card to watch Rai 4K, since it works perfectly with the gold (HD card). The other channels being Museum 4K, MyZen 4K, TravelXP 4K.

Is exactly what I said: that you don't need black, as the only useful 4K channel we have is RAI 4K and it does not need the black. Unless you consider useful Museum and the others.. ;)

CI+ cams are designed to work in licensed receivers only. Anyway a CAM is designed to restrict the card rather than enhance it - most CAMs only allow to view/record one channel at a time.

I was planning to buy a CAM+Black , but I knew this and it bothered me. Does anyone know if any of the CAM that comes with the Black works in a VuDuo2 and/or allows multiple decoding?

I know I have no use for the Black now but this is more for furure uses.

No CAMs I know of makes possible to have multiple decrypting, even from the same transponder.This is a limit of normal CAM.
I've also heard of professional CAMs, used by hotels, for instance, who should not have this limit, but I've never found anywhere and, by the way, I'm not interested in them as Oscam works perfectly (I managed to have a dozen of multiple recordings...).
And, as you see, black is useless. I know the future is the future, but there is no sensible reason to be in such a hurry to get a black when is possible it won't be needed for some years...
The future is far, the present is what matters, in my opinion.

Thanks for the info. But another problem is that I couldn't make Oscam work with Tivusat(I am using scam at the moment). I tried all the config here and in other places but nothing works. Oscam sees the card but gives all sort of decoding errors. If you have a set of working config can you share that?

Yes, I am rethinking my idea, I'll try to find a GoldHD one as I have an old card that cannot decode MEZZO (one of my favorite channel).

Strange: I already posted my oscam.server section for Tivusat in this same thread (post#9). Only... I noticed just now there's the line where you specify your card slot
device = /dev/sci0

Maybe your slot is not sci0 but sc1? It shouldn't be, but, you never know.

Yes actually my card is in sc1 (I had a SRG card in sco0) but this I changed.

I tried again with your .server and in the STATUS for reader 1/1 I get
CARDOK
(no entitlements)
in the log I got this:

Strange. As far as I know, you should not need anything else to read a card. But, maybe you can try and add these lines to oscam.dvbapi:

Yes, as I said now it works, and in fact the .dvbapi I have now has all this (and a lot more)

Good: I lost your message and that's why I posted mine. :-)

Hi. I've read this thread with interest. It kicked off with a reference to a thread - https://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?63333-Tivusat-Oscam - I started last year and thru which I received much help to ultimately resolve two issues - Tivusat and Unicable configuration. Since this thread is focused on Tivusat, I'm looking for help specifically on that.

So, back in September 2020, with the assistance of a couple of very helpful forum members I managed to get my Tivusat configuration working perfectly. Even tho I have re-read that other thread (referenced above) I cannot quite figure out if the tinkering with config only happened in /etc/tuxbox/config or if other files need to go there or elsewhere. I'm thinking specifically of the dvbapi file which I don't recall being mentioned. I'm going to start keeping a log of steps I take because remembering it all is impossible. even only a few months later.

My problem is this. My Tivusat was functioning flawlessly from September 2021 up until a few days ago. I had started streaming a TV channel to my iPad and for a few minutes there was no issue, but then I switched channel. That channel did not appear, so I closed down the app and relaunched it with same result. I closed it again, but noticed the tuner letter was still lit on the front of my VuPlus Ultimo 4K. I turned on the TV and there was nothing on the screen. After trying to use the remote to reboot, I eventually resorted to switching the STB off at the back. When the device came back on my Tivusat channels were unavailable. RAI SD channels are there, but not the rest. The other two tuners for Astra and Saorview are also ok.

So it appears there is something wrong with my configuration and I cannot work out how to fix it. I have tried replacing all the files in /etc/tuxbox/config with the saved originals - something I assume doing a restore to the last good image configuration would fix anyway - neither step corrected the problem. The log via port 8888 produces this and I wonder if anyone can help figure out what's wrong. I attach the latest output from that log.

Since my original shared post link died

here's my working config for tivusat 13E, Im using latest oscam from the feeds

just drop the entire contents of the config folder into your /etc/tuxbox/config folder and enable/start/restart oscam

Thank you soooo much Bobby C. I have that working now. I downloaded your files and copied over to the STB, downloaded the latest oscam as you suggested, disabled the older softcam, rebooted and restarted oscam, and after a few seconds all was up and running. I owe you 'a rake of pints' - as we'd say here in the Irish Midlands - or a vat of wine, or something significant for your generosity and help. What do you think the problem might have been? Do oscam plugins need to be updated from time to time? Does something change on the Tivusat side that requires a change in the files? One other question: is that softcam file meant to be there too?
Thanks again. Very grateful.

And have you any idea why my old configuration stopped working? Any idea what, if anything, changes on the Tivusat side? Or is it something with the softcam that alters?

No idea, I use vix and openatv with the same config folder, no issues

Thanks. Hopefully I won’t need to wonder about it again :-)
