My vu+ultimo 4k has gone wrong i think, need some advise to confirm this, the last few days whilst using the box i would get the screen go blank for a few seconds then come back on, like if someone pulled the hdmi out and put it back in, today it did it again but this time never came back on, i changed the hdmi, no good, restarted the box from the rear, no good, the screen on the box shows a channel but it's not on the TV, when i restart it the tv has the vu symbol and then vix but as soon as the channel shows on the box there is no tv picture, i'm on the latest vix image, any ideas? just to add the receiver is less than a year old.

If you are seeing the VU logo when it first starts, it is not going to be a hardware fault. Have you tried reflashing?

Please try it. Also, has anything changed in your TV equipment recently? Added a HDMI switch, amplifier, performed a software update on TV?

I have reflashed and that seems to have sorted it, not a clue what happened, thank's for the help anyway.

It may be that your VU is using a resolution at some point that your TV can't show, maybe? When the box starts up first it will use 720 or 1080, then when it has finally booted it will use whatever resolution you have set. My AX61 is a 4k capable box, but I have a 1080 max TV and I set it the AX61 to 1080p but sometimes it seems to use an unsupported resolution. Power off and on seems to clear it.

Sometimes with a power off/on the time for off may have to be a couple of minutes to allow internal power supplies to fully discharge.

The attachment isn't available. Just write down the settings you are using. Set it to 50Hz. On my zgemma H7 2160p 60Hz does the same thing as you are experiencing. You can use openwebif to access the box and change the settings

1080p 50Hz is fine for european viewing.

Thanks, i just thought it was odd because i have always used 2160 on this box, so it doesn't look like somethings wrong?

Same TV? Try a different HDMI cable. Make sure everything is powered down before changing cables.

As they say i'll go to our house, put a different hdmi and it now works, must have been an inferior cable.

They can go bad. I had 2 receivers that refused to switch to the correct input recently. That was the cable too.

I suppose its better have a faulty cable than a faulty box!
