Hi,

I am after some advice on which of these boxes is best? The main purpose will be a satellite PVR, would like a responsive interface, ability to access media on my local network (via Kodi?) and also to stream live TV over the network to a kodi box in another room.

They both look good on paper but would be good to get views of someone who has used them. The Gigablue Quad 4K also looks good but not sure I need the additional features.

Cheers

If Kodi media player is a must I'd suggest going to a Hisilicon based receiver. Something like the Zgemma H9 Twin. Broadcom receivers use the Enigma 2 media player in Kodi. Hisilicon receivers use the actual Kodi media player.

Also not Kodi is not required on the main receiver. I'm sure (not used it in years) theres a Kodi plugin that allows connecting to an Enigma 2 receiver for streaming. Depending on your client box theres also Android apps. Another option would be a low cost Enigma 2 receiver like the H9S to run in client mode.

Thanks for replying so quickly Sicilian!

I am not wedded to Kodi by any means, not had an enigma2 box before so unsure if it can access my NAS directly. In the other room I currently have a firestick and aware there are a couple of android apps for that which should do the job.

Would you recommend one of the boxes over the other or is there any others I should consider?

NAS access is no problem.

The AX HD61 is also a great receiver.

Your first post doesn't actually state the boxes you're considering apart from the Quad 4K.

Not surprised as it’s been a popular receiver I bet. [emoji4]

Sorry I thought I had put that in the title. I was thinking of a zgemma h7s or a gigablue uhd ue.

got the gigablue uhd ue about a week ago, very happy with it , will at some point change my LNB to a unicable so I get 8 tuners, as you say using Kodi to share it around the house works perfectly (but that would be the same with all enigma2 boxoes

Good to hear the gigablue is working out for you, which firmware are you using?

OpenVix, tried OpenATV with whooshbuild but was not getting EPG on all channels

That is useful to know as I'm probably going for the gigablue instead of the zgemma
