View Full Version : How to access files from a USB attached HDD to a Asus Router

Been search for information on here all day and can't find anything that helps with a directly attached HDD to a Asus Router via usb. I can see the test server on my MAC but cannot access the folder movie as per attached images
Please see attached my settings

any help is much appreciated.:thumbsup:

Depends on how you have configured the usb via the router software to be shared. Lots of information on how to do it if you google and it works as I previouslly had a ASUS router (its now in retirement in the loft)

How do I use it as a storage area so i can see it from the media player and change location as i require it and be able to record tv to it as an alternative drive

Does it show up in movielist - yellow button location?

The images in post #1 are difficult to read.

yes I can see the local share name but not the folder created inside

The pdf file shows 2 network shares (using different versions of samba and different mount points).

I'd start again from scratch and get the parameters right first time, I've found that updating an existing mount point ends up creating another one, not what the dialogue suggests it will do.

The key file is /etc/auto.network, there shouldn't be any duplicates in there.
