Hi all,

I bought an external dvd player for my mutant hd51.
It it working fine, but I think there is a conflict with box tuners.

If I plug in the dvd player when the box is on both tuners and player are working fine.
When I boot the box with the player plugged in tuners are not working and player is working. I get the message tuner failed.

I have attached dmesg logs for both scenarios.
-Dvd.txt log file with player plugged in after boot
-Dvderror.txt with player on while starting.

Can anyone help me to understand where the problem is and if it is possible to fix it?

Thanks

can you turn on debugs logs (menu/system/logs/settings) and provide without & with the player ... and post here
are you using any specific plugin to play the dvd??
There is limited support for a dvd player, but I know that someone recently managed it without tuner issues

You should also be able to hotplug the device, so as a 3rd attempt get the HD51 booted and then hotplug attach the device and see what happens ... with debug logs

1) what is the tuner setup? And are using a plugin tuner (it appears to have 3 Sat tuners in use)
2) the hotplug log stops after you added the hotplug- did the system stop?, if not could you play the dvd or watch a Sat service??

I have 2 dvbs2 tuner which came with the box and a USB dvb-t2 tuner which I use for saorview.
They have been working fine so far.

I have attached the updated log 61119https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201230/01065c9304b1c63e9d678772d8c2ca4e.jpg

So when you stopped the dvd, I cannot see any errors when it tried to play a sat service - so did it work? If not try stopping the DVD and then remove the dvd player - you should be able to hotplug in & out.

The problem appears when the player is plugged in and I restart the box.
I get the error tuner failed.
It looks like there is some conflict with the dvbs2 tuners during the boot.

The dvd seems to grab demux0 and Frontend0 is also trying to use demux0 so you apparently end up with an issue where the Frontend fails to tune.
There are plenty of demuxes so cannnot see why this happens - I will have a look at the plugin and the debug logs a little longer but I am pretty sure this setup ran OK on an sf8008

One last thing - can you pull the usb tuner and try running again with the dvd and see if that makes any difference.

In the meantime - hotplug is a bypass

Without usb tuner player works fine.
So it looks like the issue is between usb tuner and dvd player.
A strange one.when both usb tuner and player are plugged in from the start. Both are working but box tuners fail.

OK - I will have a think and look at the logs - I actually think the dvd player is not the issue - but many people just love these usb tuners and put up with their driver issues that happen periodically

As said I am aware of another setup on an sf8008 and there it worked fine ..... but no usb tuners

Let me know if there is anything I can help with.
I am not an expert, but I can help with anything if you guide me.
