View Full Version : Vix 2.0 help
Flashed vix 2.0 i can see CCcam in tmp/var and config file in etc, but when i go into IPK installer or softcam setup there is nothing there.
It should be put in just /tmp
Put them in tmp still cant see them in IPK installer or softcam setup.
Have you actually put the .ipk file in to /tmp?
There should be just 1 file
The config file is sent to /etc seperatley
Is the IPK file the CCcam 2.2.1
Yes but to install this using IPK Installer the file version must be in IPK format ie. file name ending in .ipk
its the file from the shared4 website, move the entire file into tmp
How do i put it in IPK format.
You dont need to mate, download the file from here http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?5921-Cams-for-ViX-Team-images and than usinng DCC ftp it to TMP, than using the vuo control blue button, vix and than manual install.
I dont know what format you have it in at the moment?
If its zipped then unzip & you should have a .ipk file
CCcam file dated 22/11/2010 if that is the one i have done that.
Not sure if i am sending settings back to vu, using dcc.
Just send the ipk file to /tmp with DCC or a FTP program
The file is there but not seing it at IPK installer or softcam setup.
The file you should have sent to /tmp should look something like: enigma2-plugin-cams-cccam.2.1.4_1.1-r2_mipsel.ipk
Done a hard restart still no joy, am using dcc have vu settings on left and pc settings on right how do i send settings back to vu+.
The CCcam was 2.21_1.0-r2
i would use a dedicated ftp programme my self over DCC.
what are you trying to do? send the cam or send settings cause we are moving away from what you were doing first
I flashed the image then using DCC put CCcam in tmp and config in ect but i am not sure if i have sent the new settings back to the vu+ right,.
@Blu-ray:
Try another CCcam file - I remember having trouble with 2.21_1.0.
CCcam 2.2_1.0 works fine with me.
(...and I also believe I had to put it in the root catalogue for the installer to find it? Anyway, fiddled around a bit...)
BjOlav
the settings will have no bearing on sending the cam to the box.
Is the cam file in the same format as enigma2-plugin-cams-cccam.2.21_1.0-r2_mipsel.ipk ????
So if you can see that exact file in /tmp then there must be something wrong with the file if you cant see it in IPK Installer. Try another file. As was said earlier i would use a proper ftp program like FileZilla (it free). Have you also done a software update after you installed the new image just in case something there is effecting it?
Just realised the actual address for /tmp comes up as /var/volatile/tmp dont think it should make any difference as they are symlinked but you could try that as i dont use DCC

People having problems with DCC, Google VU+ control centre by Lee Hudson ( current version 0.2 ). It just makes it easy to work on the box.
& ? lol
still no luck then i guess
Sorry mate but dont wanna rub salt in the wound but my cam is working & i have a footy match to watch but there are loads of others that will jump in to give you a hand if you keep posting. Good luck.
Anybody know where the CCcam confg goes, got 2 answers back, ect or usr/softcam.

it goes in /etc
Also any other CCcam cfg's CCcam_0.cfg , CCcam_1.cfg , CCcam_2 and so on. Why you would want multiple cfg's is something we can't talk about here.

Hi mate
Instead of mucking about with ipk why dont you ftp the files direct into the receiver
in user >> softcam install the CCcam bin file like CCcam.2.2.1
in var >> etc install the CCcam.cfg >> prio >> channel >>>provider files
Dont forget to chmod them
regards
satmanbasil
What are the chmod for CCcam 2.2.1 and CCcam.cfg.
I'm not sure if this is what you mean but "755"
2 days and still no closer to getting vix 2.0 working, i am told CCcam 2.1.1 chmod 755 goes in TMP, CCcam.cfg goes in ECT chmod 755,what goes in the USR/SOFTCAM !,i put CCcam 2.1.1 inTMP last night now this morning it has gone, also do you delete the mispel & ipk of the CCcam and just enter 2.1.1.
Hi mate
When you go to Menu > Setup > Softcam > Softcam Manager
Is anything showing in there?
In softcam manager there is selected = CCcam.cfg, active =, autostart =CCcam.cfg.also got CCcam.cfg ect.
That is all setup wrong then. You seem to have the wrong files.
I would suggest you ftp to the box & delete anything you can find that is to do with CCcam and start all over again with another .ipk file.
Done that, where have i gone wrong.
LoL i dunno mate
Check your private message so i can sort out sending you the file

If you load an "ipk" file via an ftp programe, ie; filezilla, flashfxp, you simply transferr the file to the folder called "TMP" there should be no need to ch mod the file, but 755 = exicutable
once in temp, you can then install it via your manual addons
the config file should be ftp,d to ETC, which will be set to ch mod 644 by defualt, and there is no need to change the setting
once the config file is on your unit, you should then see the plugin in this case, CCcam,
baz
Do you leave out the mipsel. ipk at the end, do you just put 2.1.1 in TMP.
the whole file such as enigma2-plugin-cams-cccam.2.2.1_1.0-r0_mipsel.ipk goes in the /tmp folder
Please be careful where this thread goes, sailing close to the wind here regarding CS talk ;)

It wont be, you installed it. Press blue button > Softcam manager > Does CCcam show in the manager? Can you set it to autostart?
You shouldnt have to restart as that may be clearing it. The only thing i can think of is that your not actualy putting it in the /tmp folder!
Sorry didnt realise that you had installed it
Do as Sic said above
Hi mate
When you go to Menu > Setup > Softcam > Softcam Manager
Is anything showing in there?
Its as i said earlier
Should the file have a yellow or black box at the begining of the ipk file inTMP
The file will disappear from /tmp once its installed
When you go to Menu > Setup > Softcam > Softcam Manager
Is anything showing in there?
You will also have to add your config file, have you done that?
It wont be, you installed it. Press blue button > Softcam manager > Does CCcam show in the manager? Can you set it to autostart?
What should be in softcam manager ipk file or cfg file.
What should be in softcam manager ipk file or cfg file.
Can you see CCcam list when u open softcam manager?
Softcam manager simply starts, stops and autostarts your softcam.
Niether
It should just display CCcam 2.2.1
But you have to have a config file
Cfg file is in ect spelt CCcam.cfg.
Then you should just be able to See CCcam selected then start it

2.1.4 works perfectly as well
Getting confused here bigtime, IPK installer is showing enigma2-plugin-cams-cccam.2.2.1_1.0-r2_mipsel.ipk with the option to install. Software manager is showing SELECTED: ACTIVE: AUTOSTART: CCcam.cfg. nothing to select or active, what should be in the software manager ipk 2.2.1 or CCcam.cfg file.
Start back from scratch, too many comments here now.
Right do as follows: -
FTP your chosen CCcam IPK file to /tmp.
Press Blue button > VIX Menu > IPK Installer > Select your chosen CCcam.ipk and press ok to install. Then select yes to restart.
Once restarted press Blue button > Softcam manager > Set CCcam to autostart and manually start via green button.
You CCcam.cfg goes in /etc, make sure thats in there before you start CCcam.
Follow the above step by step.
CCcam.cfg file in/ect is it just CCcam or CCcam.cfg.
CCcam.cfg file in/ect is it just CCcam or CCcam.cfg.
Just CCcam.cfg
It must be that & not cccam.cfg or anything else
IPK installed ok but when in software manager there is no CCcam to auto start, press autostart or start via green button it goes to green screen, there is SELECTED:nothing/ ACTIVE:nothing/ & AUTOSTART:is CCcam.cfg should this be showing ipk 2.2.1.
theres something wrong with the config file, use my one.
Blank of course Sic :)
your pm box is full clear messages

NO! It goes straight into /etc
LoL
Where are you getting the idea that they go there from?
Does it show up on softcam manager as a cfg file No 123456 or in cam 1.3 info
No it should just show up as CCcam.2.2.1 in Select, Active & Autostart
CCcam.cfg in just /etc & not VAR/TUXBOX/ECT as you said
