View Full Version : German EPG - No populating on Update

Hi All,

I have been running my ZGemma H7S for a few days now and I am reasonably happy with it. I still have the following issues with the EPG:


The EPG won't populate with all of the German channels.
The bouquet folders don't update.
The scanned folder isn't updating completely.


Has anyone have any ideas on what I can do to resolve this?

EPG and bouquets are different things.

How are you updating these?

How are you obtaining EPG?

For bouquets i use Vhannibal AutoSetting 1.1 which updates to 1.4 in plugins.
Viewing 13, 19.2,23.5,28.2.
I think other users use EPG refresh

I understand that EPG and Bouquets are different sort of.

EPG - list of channels and their schedules
Bouquets - channels setup by type

The two plugin I have are EPG Refresh and EPG Import and as with all things relating to this box it is all guess work how it should be configured.

EPG: What program is on the channel, timing, event description

Bouquet: Groups/folders of channels.

Obtaining EPG (Nothing to do with channel/grouping updates):
I suggest you use EPG importer.

Have a look at section 4.3 of the Vix manual

Bear in mind slight change to menu names and plugin name. EPG importer used to be called xmltv importer.

Edit:
Menu > Setup > EPG > EPG-Importer

Set your Rytec EPG download times. Anything before 06:00 is a waste of time, you will be getting old data

Press Blue (Sources)
Enable the ones you want. News is in general. You will also want Deutchshland....

Save. Then manually download if you don't want to wait for the automatic download you set.

I followed this and it worked a treat with everything populated as I was hoping it would.

It is a pity that there wasn't more on-screen help available instead of needing to ask this exceptional helpful forum what to do, OK I'm grovelling now.
Some settings tell you what the default is and nothing more whilst other settings tell you absolutely nothing. Providing more information for each setting would be a great update and extremely helpful for beginners/new users.
