Are people still using 720 skins? Or have most people switch to 1080?
Please vote in this poll so we have an idea what people currently prefer .
1080, kiddac skins. Would go 2160 if it were possible ?
I have a 4k tv, but for some reason I don't understand if you choose a 2160 resolution on image install, menus and skins look terrible, appreciate there are no 4k skins afaik.
Hi BobbyC,
I use Magic-HD Night also on 4K TVs and it does not look terrible at all.

I'm using the standard vix-night-hd skin. It's the one that I can see the best on my bedroom Tv as the fonts are bigger (smaller TV and further away!).

Simple 1080 for me too + a skin_user.xml to make the fonts even bigger!
As it is at fresh flash LOL. not really change since early days might have a fresh look now

Blue-HD on an 'HD Ready' TV. It was the first skin I found that worked well enough. It's a struggle on some of the detailed menus - highlighted text can be difficult to read - but it looks pretty and is generally more than OK.

Yep - it's a better size on my bedroom TV.
I like things simple so 1080 for me also.

RalfInteresting, I just switched to 2160 mode there and applied magic-fhd , fonts are slightly blurry for me [emoji24]
Fonts are perfect under 1080 mode, just not great when in 4k

Using KiddaC 1080 v-skin on my uno4k
Hi,
I must confess that I am also using Magic-FHD instead of Magic-HD-Night (I used for ages).

Switched to VIXBNMĈ_1020_Confluence.
There are however some plugins which have not been neatly adapted to HD skins.
Samples: Wikipedia - virtual keyboard is not centred and some keys are not visible - pictures are not visible
MP3Browser - After exit of plugin it sometimes happens that I have a 720 resolution and need to restart GUI
Netspeedtest - Layout and fonts are too small and you need a magnifier for reading.
The problem is, that you don't find people actively maintaining the plugins.

What surprises me is that so many people are still using 720 skins. It a bit like having a Ferrari and never taking it out of first gear.
Simple 1080 has bigger fonts than ViX-Night... Probably bigger than any other skin in the repo. But it also has a daft spacing between menu entries, which makes the System menu span two screens unnecessarily.

.... that one certainly runs into 2 pages just to show the last entry.
Yes.
So why do you see it all on one screen while ccs and I have to go to the next screen to reach Vix (for the backup/image manager)?
Or was that after your change to the skin?
Yes.

Or was that after your change to the skin? The cell height is 900; The ItemHeight was 75. The next smaller integer that multiplies into that size without remainder is 60. That give 15 items per page instead of 12. I've pushed that change.
