Hi all,

We are considering a VU+ DUO4K SE to access Optus D1 here in Australia.

The question is the feeds we want have a symbol rate of 47,300, multistream, 16 APSK, in clear.

Am I correct in assuming the VU+ would have no difficulty with this service?

If so, bye bye VAST (expensive CAM controlled FTA television).

Thanks.

Talk to Evo he has the box - but be very clear about your multistream requirements e.g. do you need a receiver with a Multi Stream T2MI Tuner? In which case its probably Edision/Octagon

I can't really help as on wrong side of the world.

The box certainly has the options for 16apsk and to tune 47,300 SR, but I couldn't confirm if that works or not.

I don't think there are any transponders in the Northern hemisphere that have symbol rates that high so there is no way for us to confirm that. You are really better off asking down under what others are using.

'Morning/ evening all,

Thank you for the valued replies. :)

@ ronand; It is difficult to ask anyone here as the few forums have little or no recent traffic.

The reason I have resumed interest in this service, as technology/ time has moved along and the acquisition of a signal analyser.

This ******* SK-9000B (https://www.*******.com.au/satellite-tv/satellite-tv-meters/sk-9000-high-definition-combination-meter) can resolve the 47,300 multistream without difficulty, even though it is a modest priced test gear and its manual only quotes 45M Symbol Rate.

Still asking questions before buying.

Hi all,

Ok the VU+ SE's have arrived; Impressive !

No result with OPTUS D1, however as previous I can scan, lock and view all the services' on the two multistream TP's, (or feed that into the HDMI IN of the DUO4K SE).

I am going to log a bug report with VUPLUS.com and see what happens with the evidence I have on this service.

Other satellites work normally with default settings if I only have one tuner installed and I will add another message in a few minutes to explain.

This is how the satfinder tuner copes with locking all the services on D1 in seconds and I reckon over time the DUO4K will too.

In the Signal Finder, randomly lock will occur.

Attached is a crash log when scanning DVB-T.

Ok, today I installed a default VIX 5.4.003 release.

Without any customisation I began a scan of our VAST Satellites (Optus D3/D10 these are co-sited), Optus D1 and Terrestrial.

When the DUO4K SE reached the end of the Optus D1 scan a crash log was attached with the interesting (and not surprising) notice that the symbol rate is "out of range" at 47,300 MYsMs !

Optus D1
================================================== =======================================

What I cannot understand is that the Optus D1 bird has a number of lesser TP's which two other tuners' I have will lock and report a quality signal (not resolved to a video/ audio though), but locked nevertheless.

The DUO4K SE does not find a single service on the Optus D1 bird at all !

For terrestrial scanning use TerrestrialScan plugin from the feeds.

Re: the crashes, you are running the tuner outside the its specification so who knows what sort of junk it is sending back to enigma.

The tuner itself reports its maximum is 45 MBauds.
